Otherwise the fanfiction I was writing would've make 'perfect' sense.
The AA universe takes place starting from the year 2012 i think (in terms of games), but there is no specified time period for the layton universe, so they could be the same. but due to the events that happen in the Layton games i find it unlikely that they are the same universe, since Layton london has Giant robots, time machines and villages made of robot people.
