After listening to the whole soundtrack, I'd say I think they did a pretty good job with the "original" tracks as well. However, their titles sound... weird. Must be the translation from Japanese to English, but "Obstruction to Flood Prevention"? WHAT?
Anyway, the movie rendition of the game tracks is... indirect, so to speak, but still effective since this is a film after all, and not another video game. Maya's theme is nice and calming, but it's a bit too slow and melancholic so I still prefer the upbeat game version. The choir version also reminds me of Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". LOL. And the Steel Samurai theme is FUCKING AWESOME. Some parts sound like Kay Faraday's theme, but that makes it even better.
Although I do think the film soundtrack has a lot of missed opportunities. Seriously, no Gumshoe Theme, Turnabout Sisters Ballade, or DL-6 theme? Shame. I bet those would've sounded brilliant.
