I've heard that Edgeworth interjection probably a million times by now and I still think it's OK. But I agree with Rubia that it mostly comes down to the cutscenes, and it makes me think maybe Edgey's new VA is exaggerating or caricaturing his voice in the interjection and it won't be as bad in the actual scenes. Still I fully expect Edgeworth to have a deep bass-key voice now, which is what I feared, but now that I've heard the tease of it it's not too bad actually.

It's like with Riegel. You can get used to it and at the end of the day, it could've been worse.

I have to say that I really, really don't like the voice clips for Gaspen, Klavier and especially Edgeworth. Phoenix's and Apollo are fine, and Athena's is kind of what I imagined, so I have no problem with any of those.

I really like the new characters' objections.... Blackquill, Payne, and Athena all sound great.
Phoenix and Apollo sound average.... but...
What is up with Edgeworth and Klavier? As everyone else has already mentioned... Klavier has lost his awesome accent and Edgey is really old.

And I bet everyone sounds different in the cutscenes. Phoenix's Objection and his cutscene voice sound a lot different.

How nice of them to release them officially so early (and it just has to be 24 hours AFTER finishing my first DD fan project >_<).

That said I've only listened to Apollo and Payne's. I'll save Edgey, etc. for when the game actually drops a few days from now (although the reception I'm seeing from others is making me curiously nervous, ha). Really like Polly's though and wondering if "GOTCHA" will also return.

All of them lack impact.Big time.
Miles's objection is awful.
Phoenix sounds puny except for his "Take That".
They butchered Klavier.
Simon sounds way old.
Don't care about Winston's silly brother.
Athena's is meh.

Apollo is the only decent one.Props to Orion or whatever his name is.

I actually quite liked Edgeworth's new Objection. I think it accurately represents his new stance on being both the Chief Prosecutor as well as his use of Logic.

He's voice gives an air of authority and experience that's he gathered and doesn't have the hint of cockiness that was present in his original voice clip. All true judgments will be reserved until the game comes out for good, but I like the new direction.

I just love that he sounds so similar to the GS4 Apollo. I'm glad his voice doesn't sound too different as I always thought Apollo had the best Objections.

I think Phoenix's :phoenix: and Apollo's :odoroki: are the awesome, Edgeworth :edgeworth: needs time and Gaspen :payne: is perfect.
There is quite a bit of hate for the voice actors but who are we all kidding, we were all spoiled in the first game with Manfred's fear inducing "OBJECTION! :karma: ".

I share the same feelings as this. My brain doesn't like character voice change, but I'll get used to it!

Some reversing has happened with voices though, Apollo's is deeper, Klavier's is higher, and less... Klavier?
I hope Athena's "Take That!" was just a little jump when exporting the files, and it won't jump in game.
Overall, I like all the voices, but Apollo and Klavier'll take a while to get used to. (Is it weird I find Gaspen's Objection more irritating than Winston's? :payne: )

Edgeworth's is so deep! I like it though

Pheonix: sounds exactly how I'd expect him to with no impact
Apollo: is 11/10
Athena: is weird... her objection being the worst and the other two being passable (I didn't like what i got from her in her cutscene little as it was to be fair was hoping for Michelle Ruff or someone like her)
Simon: is 10/10 but he sounds like his objection should belong to Miles
Miles: Will need to hear in cutscene but is he actually 60 and no one told me?
Klavier: Was hoping for Reuben Langdon (Old Dante) or for them to reuse his old one but he sounds like Yuri lowenthall to me (which is not fitting)
Gaspen: 10/10

Overall they ether seemed to find the perfect fit for a character or totally fuck them up with little middle group Athena being the only exception.

Edgeworth and Klavier really took me by surprise. Edgeworth felt really OOC to me, and Klavier sounds like a total nerd. Gaspen's is perfect!

I like Blackquill the most.
Klavier sounds like a totally different person, so it will take some time to get used to that.
Apollo sounds better than expected, Athena's good although the voice clips arent the most optimal for some samples.
Edgeworth's really good too.

I think most of them sound pretty... tame. Like Phoenix, the voice is fine but he lacks a certain "oomph". Athena sounds cool and angry. Apollo- what the hell? What happened to the chords of steel?! He's supposed to bark, dammit! Edgeworth sounds powerful, but not at all like Edgeworth. Gaspen's voice was smug and cool, especially since I was expecting a Winston-ripoff. Klavier sounds pretty sweet and nice, and above all I'm glad they got rid of the "OBJEENKTION!" from AJ. Simon is regal.

Agreed. There's a subtle difference to them even if they're both pretty posh. Also, I find blackquill to sound more sinister whereas Edgey sounds more like an authority.

Blackquill definitely sounds like a villain than Edgeworth. I think Edgeworth will sound fine as soon as we hear him in the cutscenes.

It can go both ways honestly. One thing is the how he places his overall tone and how his sound is, but he might be a really bad actor despite of that, though of course I expect Capcom to have chosen the best they could find here! (I'm looking at you right now Cap!)

Oh wait, probably not ^^ :chinami:

There is no chance of that since Blackquill's Objection sample was also heard in a previous gameplay video in which he was directly shown. The two samples match perfectly proving that the sample attributed to Blackquill in the current video was clearly his.

And IMO Blackquill's Objection wouldn't fit Edgey anyway. I actually had a positive reaction to his new voice even if it's not as I had hoped. It kinda captures his spirit but it's too deep and old.

I want to say I'm going to save my judgement for Edgeworth's voice after I have heard the cutscenes, but I just can't. I swear I hear the judge a lot more in that objection than I do Edgeworth. It sounds to me like they didn't take Seon King's voice into consideration at all. I wish I could be more positive about it like a lot of people but I'm kinda dissapointed.

So far, I have to say everyone else is pretty good. Klavier does sound pretty different, but I can get used to that.

I wonder who will voice him in the English version. I guess since Sam Reigel was carried over from UMVC3 that the guy who voiced the judge in that could be brought over as well, but he only had one line in that game so you never know.

To be honest, I'm most excited to hear Udgey in DD than any other. Finally we can answer the question of what sort of old man voice the official sources entail. I personally prefer the little-old-man type of voice, but I won't bat an eye if it's not.
