In any case some mentioned worries about how the gameplay will be handled. I say that those worries are unnecessary. The "overworld-navigation" is simmilar enough in both series to be fused into one completly and so are investigation sequences. Just put some puzzles into the evidences and objects to examine and you have everything of both games perfectly crafted into one.
This is gonna be Awesome with a capital "A".

Maybe this scene happens after the witch case, when they're back at home? Which could mean the witch case is only the first case. But it would also mean they're able to travel between the world at their own will or something like that. I don't know, but these two scenes with Layton saying the law isn't always right and Phoenix saying he doesn't trust Layton seem very odd to me, because to me the background doesn't belong to the medieval world.
Edit: But when watching the trailer again these backgrounds DO belong to the medieval city. :D
But it is still odd, that they can rest there peacefully, when before they had to hide and flee the whoel time.

Also PW and PL live in completely different "worlds", so the only way they can meet is some sort of "inter dimensional time travel" (or whatever, there is no need for that to be logically, they just met each other in the same world).

My guess would be that Level 5 weren't aiming for it to be in any particular time period- I mean parts of it look quite Victorian but then there's cars and robots and suchforth and London certainly doesn't look like it's portrayed in the games, worse luck DX

I beat it in about three days, not because I'm that great at puzzles, but because it was literally too epic to down. ...it was amazing.
Besides the better the Layton sales are, the more likely we are to get this crossover!

I'm not so sure if there is a correlation between those two things and I seriously doubt NA residents have to worry about getting this game at all. We've received every single Ace Attorney game and every Layton game, no problem. The only one we had to worry about was Justice for All, back when Ace Attorney 1's sales were uncertain. Seriously, post that, I don't know why anyone should worry about a release unless I missed something. It's pretty definite (If the past is anything to go by) we'll get it.
If you're talking about the EU market, I can say I have no idea what the situation is over there. But I'm fairly certain NA consumers need not worry, seriously. It's not been a problem in the past and I don't think it will be now that the install base continues to grow larger.
Also, this game has made me pick up Curious Villiage and the following 2 Layton games as well; I'm sure I'm not the only one on that. I've been curious in the series ever since it first hit the shelves and now I have an excuse to pick it up and familiarize myself!
