Doesn't the vegetable reference in Mimi's name refer to how rabbits and bunnies eat vegetables? This is probably too obvious to be it.

Or, it could be that obvious. As Ash mentioned in a previous post, turning around the kanji (skipping the central one) in her last name make the word "yasai", meaning "vegetable". He also explained that Japanese TV crew lingo often incorporates use of re-arranged versions of common words like "yoroshiku" -> "shikuyoro". And since Jack and crew are definitely filming Trucy in a Wonderland-lookalike, it fits.

Now, whether or not the "nana" part of her name relates to some number 7 in the case remains to be seen. In any case, it is a lucky number, and bunnies are often seen as good omens in many cultures. I wonder if Mimi is like a reverse Maggey?

Kinda random, but the "々" in "菜々野" is not a kanji, but a punctuation mark. It has no name on its own (though some call it ノマ), but is referred to as "踊り字" together with other 'repeat' symbols like　"ゝ" and "〱".

Yeah she might have a bigger role but still not a main character role, she'll probably get about 3 scenes every other case.
