As what I heard a month ago, the Press Start 2008 Shanghai Concert was held on Oct.30th,and one of the played music was a combination of a few GS BGMs.

A video which was taken by one of the audiences can be watched here: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/2SQHPpVpkiQ/

Never mind the Chinese webpage, the video will automatically start to play after buffering.

I hope they will start to sell the concert CD as soon as possible...

I don't know...unlike what happens in Japan, Concert CDs usually only on sell on the holding day in ShangHai, so people who go to the concert can buy the CD for their fridents or themselves. I tried to persuade my parents to present the concert but failed (as what I expected :sadshoe: ),so I'm not sure if they sold the CDs on that day. Maybe they still want to follow their Japanese rules and start to sell the CD 6 months later, who knows.

I forgot they were holding that concert. The orchestra is very good, but I think I heard them slip up in one spot. Oh well, no one is perfect.

Maybe one day (dreaming again, I know) they'll hold some concerts in North America. They could have them in the major cities across the continent (is glad that several major cities are in her state).

Bleh, I did not like that. I don't know if it was the orchestra or the arrangement or what.

It sounded like Gyakuten Meets Orchestra (which I really like) except it was way too fast, the transitions were really bad, and there was a disproportionate number of instruments =\

Great Revival was fine except for the massive rushing. Which prtty much ruined it since it is a majestic march-fanfare thing that isn't supposed to be too fast.
Objection 2001 had massive rushing, and there was too much background and not enough melody and counter-melody.
Objection 2002 and 2004 were fine (except rushing) at the beginning and end, but they fell apart in the middle (at least that's what it sounded like to me)
Pursuit ~ Cornered was too slow (srsly wtf?) and there was not nearly enough counter-melody (the only reason Pursuit ~ Cornered is so amazing is because of the counter-melody!)

It also annoyed me how the intro to Pursuit ~ Cornered was not only obviously ripped from Gyakuten Meets Orchestra, but it was also obviously watered down a ton!

If they just slowed it down a bit, it would do wonders, in my opinion :yuusaku:

Or maybe some nice stuff.
I'm pretty happy with my CD though, and these videos are sure great
Even if some parts are rushed >.>

I didn't know you were a moderator, Tuesday. When did that happen?

Also, congratulations!

I'm in Shanghai and wish I knew they were selling CDs. I didn't have the money for a ticket :sadshoe: so I didn't even go. If I knew they were selling CDs I would have bought one... Any chance there will be other places to buy CDs?

Well if they did sell CDs maybe we can buy them on Taobao, but I'm not getting my hope up now. I will see if I can find more information about the Press Start CD last year.> <

If you're upset about that then just listen to the official Orchestra Soundtracks. With the Press Start version, they're trying to encompass an entire series in couple of minutes. Really, that wasn't half as bad as you're making it out to be. Just different expectations.

So far there hasn't been any CD versions of any Press Start ~Symphony of Games~ 2006, 2007, or 2008 performances in Tokyo, so it's unlikely to happen for the Shanghai version. (Good thing for fan video clips!)

The arranger was asked by the producers to "capture everything about Gyakuten Saiban in one song" so the increased tempo could have been due to necessity of fitting the multi-song medley into a certain fixed length of time.

I know. That's why I'm doing :P I watched it, commented it, and moved on.

I didn't know if they had a time limit or anything on the song, which is why I refrained from saying anything about why it was like that and if that compensates for it, just what I thought about it.
