Worried that Gyakuten Kenji (Turnabout Prosecutor) won’t come out over here? I wouldn’t. Capcom USA published every Nintendo DS game in the Ace Attorney series so far, but courtroom drama fans want a little evidence right?

I found some, a trademark for Ace Attorney Investigations registered by Capcom.
With Ace Attorney, Apollo Justice, and Phoenix Wright already registered I’m confident this will be used for Gyakuten Kenji. This DS game has Edgeworth and Gumshoe playing more of a detective role exploring crime scenes and piecing together evidence to crack cases instead of saving innocent defendants in court. The Japanese version comes out in May. Localizing Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney took around ten month so I wouldn’t expect to see Ace Attorney Investigations until the end of this year at the earliest.

You may read the trademark here. I'm surprised, the trademark is only a week old.

Nice find! I think the name "Ace Attorney Investigations" is really bad, but... smeh. It's just a name, right?

(And here on CR we can always just call it "Perfect Prosecutor" :edgy: )

That is a very interesting name for the localization. I wonder if this is a place holder until they can think of something different?

Edit: I like Turnabout Prosecutor best, but I'm a fan of direct translations.

I like Ace Attorney Investigations better than Turnabout Prosecutor/Perfect Prosecutor or any other names. It sounds less spinoffy.

It sounded more like a spinoff title to me, but to each his own.

There are better potential titles for the game, but "Ace Attorney Investigations" is fitting for a spin-off. For all I care, they could call it the Oldbag Stalker Files and I'd still be all over it like a red suit on Edgeworth.

As excited as I'd like to get for this, I have to point out that until Capcom says something, we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Even if it could be the english name for GK, it might as well turn out to be the english name for the GS Encyclopedia for all we know.

That being said, I'm sure Capcom will get around to saying something about it soon enough. Until then, all we have to go on is a name, which is hardly decisive evidence.

Of course, Ace Attorney refers to the series, but to put it in GK's name for the US... I don't know, sounds weird to me... After all, prosecutor attorneys exist, but with 4 games starring defense attorneys, this name really sounds weird to me... at least, for the time being. There's still a LOT of time befor the game is released in the US after all, we have time to get used to that name (if that's the real name, that is).
I prefer Perfect Prosecutor personally, but I don't really care what's the game called... furthermore, AAI isn't THAT bad a name, is it ?...
At least, we know the game is being translated right now (or it will be very soon), even though that's not really big news, since it would have been very improbable for Capcom not to release GK overseas, especially with the growing popularity of the franchise. But it's still nice to be sure :edgy:

I think I'll keep on calling it GK personally xD

I ... think I'll have to leave C-R in order to avoid spoilers, though. D:

I like the new name. Cheer up people, at least we won't have to worry about double subtitles like "[Main character here]: Ace Attorney: [Law pun here]" now!

Games companies are always copyrighting stuff, It may be for a potential idea, or it may be to stop others from taking the name. (you should see some of the odd stuff activision and nintendo have trademarked)So I'd wait for an official announcement first.

Ace attorney investigations doesn't really seem like the final name they'd choose to be honest, but we'll see at some point.

Oooh...some interesting news~ Maybe GK will be released States-side sooner than I had hoped. XP

As for the name...eh. I really have no opinion either way, honestly. I suppose I don't really mind the title at all. As long as it's coming over here, I don't care what they decide to call it. XD

Although the title doesn't bear much sense (Edgey isn't an "ace attorney" ...), it's okay and works - And honestly, I care a lot more about the content than about the title. As long as we get a sweet translation of the game, I'm fine with practically ANY title.

Wait, why isn't he an ace attorney? Attorney just means lawyer: you can have both defense attorneys and prosecuting attorneys. E.g.: District Attorney, Assistant District Attorney, etc.

... Attorney is a funny looking word when you see it that many times. Attorney attorney attorney attorney attorney attorney...

Well then I just thought too much in German. In German, "attorney" and "prosecutor" are more apart in their meanings.

Yeah, it's the same way in Dutch! I myself would've like "Miles Esgeworth: Perfect Prosecutor", but I'm really fine with any name.

Well okay, a name like "Edgey-poo: Please 'prosecute' me" might rub me in the wrong way...

Well, you just have to read one of crouton's posts to know that she would like that title. It's not like it's uncommon knowledge, anyway.
