Information from TGS is rolling in, so in case you haven't been following the forum, here are the newest tidbits, spoiler free.

Current release date for Japan is Spring, 2011, which means the rest of us can probably expect it Spring 2012. Why is it so far away!?

Because the girl is so short. They probably choose her for the Kawaii factor.

On the ending picture for T&T, Edgeworth is 1-2 inches taller than Wright, Wright is a head taller than Maya and Maya is roughly as tall as me. Which would make that girl 1-2 inches taller than me. Which sounds realistic.


Anyway, the new characters look cool, although Mikiko reminds me on Lotta after getting a long-needed haircut, Outeikun looks like a more intimidating Will Powers and Judge Mikagami (Doesn't that translate out to "Beautiful Mirror(image)"?) is beautiful, but has a weird, weird hairdo... is this supposed to remind us on a gavel?


In any case, game's gonna be awesome. Gonna import it. Probably. Even though my Japanese is probably not enough to survive through it...

My response, as seen on AAO.
The rival reminds me of Young!Mia mixed with Dahlia...It's the face and the hair...
And the trailers music... soooo good. They say they wanted the game to be more emotional for Edgey, and IMO, as someone who goes about finding emotion in songs, they nailed it. I can tell this is going to be my favorite cornered. It's much less mechanical and more of an uphill battle of sorts.

As for any details I can pick up. I want to say Shelly is not the killer. Capcom has said that they want to make the first case feel like a final, and I think that means lots of twists. But, he's DeKiller so... Besides if he was they killer, do you really think he would be at the crime scene? The victim is obviously Mr. Lion, there is a black and white "flashback photo of him at 1:40, obviously he's dead, why else would you flashback to him leaving the plane? (Don't answer that I know there is a ton of explanations.) The silhouettes are very intriguing, seems we got a gun twirler, a composer(wonder if he'll be my favorite new character :P), a layed back guy, and someone who flashes too fast for me to see, even with the fast pause,unpause trick. Lastly, we see Edgey falling back, holding his jacket in a Portsman-esc way. Maybe he's being pulled back or something is pushing him back... like a gunshot? An assassination attempt would make it a more emotional game.

2012? I can't wait that long. I'd rather learn Japanese, and order the game, but from a second glance at the trailer, I guess waiting about a year, and 2 months, isn't tttthhhhatttt much to wait. One thing bothering me is that, in every new AA game, there's usually a new prosecutor, which means theres bound to be a new ''Agent'' on our hands....which makes me wonder what happened to Lang..... :beef:

Seeing as how Edgeworth didn't have a ''logical'' conclusion for the Magatama in AA:T&T, then this appears to be a contradiction.

An attractive young judge who butts heads with him and challenges his reasonings? It sounds like Miles has found his ideal woman.

The character design is looking as sharp as ever. Though Senator Bodybuilder there looks a bit like Raizo from Capcom's Rival Schools game..

Sadly it is possible. Wikipedie says that the 3DS comes out before April 2011. And it is maybe a game that will get launched with the 3DS. That would be naai. I really hope it isn't...

I would assume they might pull what most developers do - release it on the old console. Just look at the Gamecube or the PS2 - games were and for the latter, are still being produced despite the fact it has already been succeeded.

It will be cool to see Ace Attorney games in 3D though, but I'm confused as to what will they make 3D as in the trailer the gameplay and the graphics looks the same as AAI which is a DS game :<

Just because a gaming device is released doesn't mean all the new games have to be released for it.

I was still looking for DSi exclusive games last year, because my wireless internet security doesn't support DS/DS Lite games for online play. Still am in fact. :eh?:

Off-topic: Did I sensed a bit Netherland-ish there?

PS2 is a great example however, It's going to be a bad move. Eshiro should spent his time and money in making everything 3D (would be awesome! :edgy: )
And I thought Nintendo wouldn't accept anymore normal DSi games after the 3DS' release.

@Tap, No, here in Europe, they don't sell Gamecube games anymore due the Wii.

Ahahahahah why do all the people see Fran's older sister in all the new female characters! Now THAT'S something I wanna know!^^

I do hope Franny and Lang will return. I can't see a game featuring Edgeworth without Franziska and Gumshoe in it. At least we have Gumshoe, but I really really hope Fran will be in it!

Also Croik, do you think we'll see the videos of the Special Court of this TGS?

That could work actually. Manfred said his other daughter had a child, which suggests she might be married/had been married at some point and would possibly have changed her surname to her husband's. And it would fit that a daughter of Manfred's would have some legal job..

I am in love with the image of Edgeworth's new enemy. Fingers crossed my hunch is as right as it was with Himiko Kazura! :garyuu:

The chess sounds kind of weird at this point, but if they make it simple and logical, I think I can handle it. :edgy:

Last note, the girl in the trailer (showing the chess game, right-most in the Case 1 picture)? Reminds me of Rikku from Final Fantasies X and X-2 for some reason...
Heaven forbid if it's a Lotta-remake, or worse, a family member of hers! :beef:

All that's pretty awesome.
New rival looks as evil to Edgeworth as Franziska was to Phoenix in JFA. But she doesn't look like Franny. Seriously, she's not going to be her sister. Deal with it, fanboys/girls.
President of Zheng-Fa (spelling?) looks badass.
And new Lotta(?) looks likeable, I guess.

I can't quite make heads or tails of that music, it's a bit confusing. Though it gets better near the end.

And Spring 2011 could mean a May release for Japan, just like GK1. Which would mean a January/February 2012 release for NA/Europe, if it takes as long as AAI.

Also, this pic of the new rival was posted in the GK2 announcement thread, and it contains one of her poses, which contains... a freaking stretchable gavel.

If they are really not making a GS5, I'll just write a plot, assemble myself a MIGHTY group of Spriters and Skript-writers and make it myself! HA!

Regarding Judgette Mikagami (And I will keep calling her that now), I think she looks like an interesting new character, even though I believe the character designs are slowly getting out of hand.

Remember back in AA1, when April being pink was still a big deal and Maya was stared at for wearing a Kimono in public?

Hahaha, I have to agree with you. When I saw her my first thought was that she looked like some kind of JRPG healing magician. Not that Edgeworth's magenta suit is standard for prosecutors, but being a judge I wouldn't have minded something simpler.
