Remember back in AA1, when April being pink was still a big deal and Maya was stared at for wearing a Kimono in public?

Hahaha, I have to agree with you. When I saw her my first thought was that she looked like some kind of JRPG healing magician.

Oddly enough, so did I. Well, I thought of a specific person she slightly resembled--Miang from Xenogears--who did take up a healing role in combat in an RPG.

I thought she looked more like a Black Mage than a White Mage.

Lulu from Final Fantasy X comes to mind... (except Mikagami has no belts...)

Well, I'm happy with either game, the only reason I would complain is because they left so many plot holes in AJ, but other then that, I'm fine with the release of GK2, and can't wait to play it.

People are "moaning" because there were so many loose ends left unresolved at the end of GS4. If the writers hadn't left that massive Polly-and-Trucy-are-siblings-but-don't-know-it plot hole, then I'm pretty sure people wouldn't be complaining as much.

But since we've effectively been left on a cliffhanger, it's hardly surprising that there are those who want to know what happens next and therefore want another Apollo game so the loose ends can be tied up and some further character development can take place.

Personally speaking, I loved GK- the new format and art style, not to mention the writing were fantastic- and I'm looking forward to playing GK2 but I still very much hope they'll make a GS5.

I think we've seen enough of "fandom's golden boy" (as I believe Croik described Edgeworth) for now and I'd like to see more from the Apollo arc~

TL;DR- Loved GK and am really excited about GK2 but still hope for GS5 and understand why there's so much so-called moaning that we might not get one.

I never said that I don't want another AJ game (in fact, I really want one, I loved Apollo), I said that people should shut up moaning about there not being one yet.

Fact is, they're not making a new AJ game yet, they're making AAI2. So get over it.

Like I said, be grateful that they're even bothering to do another game at all. I'm sure I'm not the only one thought that AAI would be the last ever.

Wise words, sometimes we just ask for too much.

Sure we're not done with AJ yet, but that doesn't mean it's the only thing that needs to be done.
Eshiro started the AA series again, with AAI.

If you'd read what I'd posted, looby- you'd see that actually I didn't suggest you didn't like GS4, I just gave reasons for why those people "moaning" are actually quite justified.

If GS4 had just been a neat little standalone game, I reckon there wouldn't be so many complaints. But I digress. The fact remains that I agree we should be happy with what we've got, but the people who aren't have good reason not to be.

I hadn't expected a GK2 either, so I'm definitely pleased on that count~ And I'm interested in who'll be making cameos this time, though I'd definitely prefer longer cameos like Larry had rather than ones like Ema that didn't really feel like they were playing any part in the storyline ^^

That and people like complaining for the sake of complaining. Like a bunch of old people xP

And Panda there's no need to be funny, I did read your post through. I was just adding in that I'm not pro-AAI and an AJ hater. I want both.

Point taken~ Apologies if I sounded snarky ^^ It would be amazing if we could have both but for now, I guess we'll have to be satisfied with another AAI.

Tell that to Devil May Cry fandom right about now, lol. Just because we're fans doesn't mean we should be expected to eat up everything they throw at us.

Honestly I don't like to hear people harp on a game either, but this is only the second week of knowing it exists. People are still reacting to the news, and of course some aren't as happy as others. If they're still complaining months from now you'll have a point, but for now, there's nothing wrong with people saying "GK2 is great and all but I'd rather see GS5."

When I heard Capcom is re-booting DMC on XPlay, I immediately thought that if that game is a piece of garbage, fans would still be happy that there's a new game coming out.

IDK what to think about this new rival. I'll have to wait and play the game to see what my feelings are. I'm hoping Lang comes back even for a cameo. Lang/Edgeworth had great chemistry.

And that Edgeworth doll? Oh boy

...Also, I've learned to read (=/= understand) hiragana but it's so depressing to try to start to read the magazine or whatever and then run into katakana and kanji T_T

(Anyway, I wanna keep myself spoiler-free this time, so I prolly won't be coming into any more GK2 threads...)

I can already imagine Judge Mikagami's introduction speech to Edgeworth...

Spoiler:
"This is my gavel, the symbol of my profession. The mark of judgment, keeper of the scales, the ultimate arbiter of the defendant's fate. Constructed from 380 grams of solid African mahogany - with the meter-long retractable handle, the average man can swing her at 6.28 meters per second for a peak momentum of 2.38 kg-meters per second."
*extends handle*
"My current record is three point oh four."

The Edgeworth doll was lulz, but they had ropes around him so you couldn't get close :( bad spacing ruined my photo with him (though that was partly the photographer's fault).

Sorry, I didn't catch if this was said - did anyone who speaks Japanese play the demo at TGS? I have a question...
Spoiler:
the chess game: what was going on? I can't read Japanese quickly, so I didn't even try to understand it. I can't tell if it actually adds much gameplay/puzzle-solving or if it's kind of mindless. It reminded me of psyche-locks, but with more potential for "really? THAT'S what you wanted me to say"? Not that it's easy to tell in the first case, but eh.

I'm somewhat surprised that AAI2 is out instead of AJ2, but on the other hand, I'm not, probably because of Edgeworth's popularity, that, and AJ sort of wrote itself into a corner. Despite all the plot holes and unexplained stuff, there's this dilemma of "Phoenix Wright's name is cleared, therefore he doesn't have to be a hobo anymore, does he come back as a Lawyer to kick Apollo out of his own game again"

But I digress, this is the GK2 thread, so I'll rant about my thoughts of that.

First of all, I admit I am a bit disappointed that GK2 still features Edgeworth, I was hoping it'd be Franziska or Gumshoe's game next. However, reading the news that this game is supposed to be actually about Edgeworth (and not Kay for example) makes me happier.

First question on my mind though: Where is Franziska?!. Has she been replaced by the new rival woman? If so then I'll be sad, because I love the dynamic between Franzy and Edgey.

Secondly, De Killer!!!! That's one character I never thought I'd see again.

Thirdly, even though this will most likely not happen, I'd like to see a Phoenix cameo. I know the chances of that is like 0.0000000001%, but hey, I can hope right? *wants to see big Phoenix sprite*

Timeline questions: In the trailer, Kay says "it's been a while", so I wonder just how long after GK this is set and where it fits on the timeline. Remembering there's about a month's time between events of GK and the Magnifi case, are they squeezing in GK2 into that month somewhere? Or would it be set after Phoenix lost his badge? If it is set after that event, do you think they'd have to address Edgeworth's reaction to that? It'd be cool to tie it in to AJ, but something makes me think they'd not want to touch that issue... (which is why I think GK timeline was squeezed in there)

I also hope the gameplay is slightly more difficult, but not dragging on like the last case of GK. And I hope this logic chess system is more interesting than the Eureka thing.

-----

also, that Edgeworth doll is creepy... now where can I find a life-sized Phoenix doll?

In fact it's set like 3 or 4 days after GK1. In fact Kay saying "it's been a while" is exaggerated and mis-translated, I think that Ash explained it somewhere but I don't remember where. The first case takes place on March 25th! :)

As I was the one who translated in the first place, I try to defend my choice of words :P Hisashiburi simply refers to a long time / a while. However, what counts as 'a long time' is kinda subjective, and I myself have used the word with people I hadn't seen for over a year, for two months, for two weeks... and with people I hadn't seen for 4-5 days. The latter actually isn't that usual, but it depends on what you think is a long time.

Though in hindsight (as the date of GK2-1 wasn't known then), a different choice of words might've been more suitable.

Hahaha, I have to agree with you. When I saw her my first thought was that she looked like some kind of JRPG healing magician. Not that Edgeworth's magenta suit is standard for prosecutors, but being a judge I wouldn't have minded something simpler.

Yeah, I would like them to make the characters a little more normal looking...
Ok, they can have some weird people, but it doesn't have to be a freakshow...

I like the new rival though, finally another judge than the regular AA one (and his brother was pretty much the same with some added Canada).

I don't blame you. We know Kay, she tends to overdramatize things, especially in her entrance-speeches. It's in-character for her to say "It's been a long time!", when actually barely a week has passed.

I'm just waiting for Edgey to point this out! XD

Well, I don't complain, being the Tetsuya Nomura Fan that I am, but Hakari still looks pretty out of place, standing next to our lawyers. :phoenix: :edgeworth:

Wow, if I am not wrong, this can be considered quite fast for a sequel to be released. Wasn't expecting a GK2 so fast, thought that it would be GS5 followed by GK2. I would love to actually interact with Phoenix this time, maybe a case where he's the assistant? But what in the world De Killer, is he actually wearing a suit with his signature symbol on it?!?! I really don't think that is the smart thing to do at all, how can Edgy not just yell "GET HIM!" and arrest De Killer on the spot?

Still, love everything in the trailer, can't wait for more news.
