It also seems like a spinoff, so maybe they decided to make the game to keep the Phoenix Wright fans molified while they come up with ideas for Polly? Who knows. All I do know is... gimme. D:

Even if it doesn't turn out that way, it sure as hell should be! I haven't even played the Layton games before, but I still love their style and feel (and I do plan to play them at some point).

This news is pretty much on par with Disney and Square announcing their team-up for Kingdom Hearts, only this time around virtually no one is in doubt that the cross-over will be anything short of NIRVANA! :gant-jazz:

Mmmhmm I think one of the biggest draws is for the first time in.....3 games (if you count AAI2 and discount the fanservice playability in GS4) we'll be playing as Nick again.

I wonder if we'll have to side with either Layton or Phoenix.

It does say VS in the title after all and some of those screenshots seem to imply Phoenix is set against Layton in court.

The two best ds game series together!!!
This is a dream I wish never to awake from.
I hope they keep the epicness of both series and don't screw one.
I mean, there should be logic, murder, evidence and court in it.
But I also hope they keep those epic puzzles and cut-scenes.

Btw, so we have 3 games beeing made at the same time:
-AAI2
-Layton VS Phoenix
-Professor Layton 5

From the looks of things this will be a Layton game that just has Phoenix and Maya in it, not that that matters too much. I hope they have at least one playable trial segment at least.

And maybe there will be puzzles involving Ace Attorney characters.

Takumi, just give us a normal Gyakuten Saiban 5 instead of Phoenix with Professor Lego battling the dark knight using puzzles and OBJECTIONS!
I mean, come one what the hell is this!? A fictional world!? I know that Ace Attorney is also fictional but not like this.
I'm speechless. Just wanted a new Ace Attorney...not this.
Believe me, this game is going to be Ace Attorney's end. And I'm not trying to be pessimistic because, maybe, it could give Takumi his inspiration and love for Ace Attorney back to make another REAL Ace Attorney.
BUT with Apollo, that poor guy just needs another game.

Uuuuhhh...let this just be my opinion, 'kay?
