Just started playing the second Layton (My brother's lost the first. They're hopeless...) and noticed that those games were practically MADE for fusion. All the gameplay elements of the two series grip into each other perfectly! No wonder they decided to do a cross-over!!
Instead of just bluntly examining stuff and reading boring court records, we'll be able to solve puzzles and minigames to find the Contradiction! FAN-JOY-HYPER-GASM!

Remember that this is a medival word, so there are no "Defense Attorneys" and "Prosecutors".
Phoenix will probably be called an "Advocate" before the court of this strange city, which would make Layton the "Procurate".
Not that it would make much of a difference...

I'm not familiar with the Professor Layton series, but new Gyakuten is good Gyakuten in my book.
I suppose this means I'll be getting some new games some time in the future, whether due to peer pressure or eventual overwhelming curiosity.

This is God in videogame form. Capcom and Level-5 are developing God for the Nintendo 3DS. "Capcom and Level-5"/"Gyakuten Layton"/"3DS" are my new Father/Son/Holy Spirit.
There is no chance of this game sucking. It's got Level-5's animations and voice-acting, Takumi's writing, the return of Phoenix and Maya, oh yes and it's a freaking Layton/Ace Attorney crossover. If it were for all these alone, this is an immediate GOTY. And considering we're talking about Level-5 and Capcom, I'm pretty sure we won't be disappointed.

I just beat Professor Layton and the Unwound Future and then I'm treated to this! :'D
Now let's count how many reasons there are to get a 3DS... Kingdom Hearts, Ocarina of Time, Kid Icarus, Paper Mario, MGS3, Persona... AND NOW PROFESSOR LAYTON VS. ACE ATTORNEY!!
And they said that the gameplay will involve both contradictions and puzzles. My hands are itching and aching from not being able to access this level of fun at this very second. ;A;

Professor Layton vs. Gyakuten Saiban indeed! I'd say Layton's mind is at least on par with Edgeworth's, so it should be interesting to see how this goes. For that matter, is he truly convinced of the client's guilt, or did he just kinda get drafted as the prosecution(or does he have his own reasons for doing it)? Perhaps most importantly, are we still going to get treated to over-the-top reactions when testimonies/arguments get holes poked in them?
Questions we can't answer, I know, but I'm still eager to speculate!
