Anyway, some things about this game:
-All I had to see was Phoenix's head moving and Maya's hands moving and I was sold.
-This is the first time we will see nonsarcastic!Phoenix and Maya (maybe even Mia) in six years.
-Phoenix defends a supposed witch, but I suppose that magatama won't help him...or Maya...oh great Maya WILL be accused again won't she...
-Mizuki Nana indeed voiced Maya in the trailers and may voice Maya here...I can't imagine Takumi-san voicing Phoenix though. That'd be weird.
-I'm wondering when in the timeline this will take place.
-AA localizes quickly however Layton does not; how quickly will this be localized, and will this mean this crossover is localized before Layton 4 or long after AAI2?

I still can't believe this is a game... it sounds and looks so much like a film.

Best game ever confirmed? Seriously, it's just so out of the blue I can hardly believe it's real. I was already on the Day One bandwagon for the 3DS, but damn, this is like getting an extra whole extra layer on an already delicious cake.

Since this will inevitably get localized, who wants to place bets on who will be the English language VAs? (Since I highly doubt they’ll be lazy enough to stick subtitles on it since this is PL we’re talking about.)
Also, who like me will be keeping tallies on how many fingers get pointed?
I think Layton and Phoenix will be definitely cooperating, since in that one picture all four of them (Phoenix, Maya, Layton, Luke) were crouching together when hiding from the Story Teller. Perhaps a sort of Apollo-Klavier or Phoenix-Edgeworth relationship?

@ Aster Selene: They may decide to keep the VAs for Prof. Layton and Luke, since that series has voice-acting already laid down in previous games, but the voices of Phoenix and Maya (and anyone else from the AA universe that decides to pop up) will most likely be voiced by people who do anime voice-over work, most likely voice-actors from Viz, Bang-Zoom, and maybe even Funimation.
But DAMN, this sure as hell made my day, even after being notified that I was failing Physics! :D
EDIT: I just checked the Wikipedia for the game, and someone's already posted that Edgeworth's going to be in it. The only problem with this is that there's no citation or proof for it, and I've checked each article listed on the page for proof, so I doubt they have any actual basis to go by.

So... Layton is the prosecution and Phoenix is the defense? :o Anyway, I want to see some gameplay, just to know how it's going to work, and then I'm all set until the release :3
Also, I would like for there to be cameos of characters from the Layton and AA series's... and "cameos" of music from the two series's, as well (like, Objection! playing in Phoenix's first appearance or first objection, something small that fans will recognize :3)

I can only pray that the trailer is actually representative of what we'll see in the game itself, at least where cinematics are concerned.

I've had a knack for puzzle games and rhythm games. I'm happy inside! Too bad it's only playable on the 3DS. We probably won't get that until 2015 or so. =P
