I have to admit, I'm not much into Professor Layton. Not because of the characters or something like that, but I'm not much that 'solve that puzzle'-person.
BUT! THIS is AMAZING! We get Phoenix back!We see Phoenix and Maya-ANIMATIONS! As soon as the release date is out, I will buy the Nintendo 3D, or what's it called.
To be honest, AAI2 can't compete with this, 'cause I'm missing Phoenix and MAYA since GS3. Even if it's 'just' a crossover, it's Phoenix and Maya and it's voices and animations and playing Nick again ( I hope. Please. Pleaaase...)
That saved my year. And my 'let's run into capcom with a gun and blackmail them to make a new GS-game'-plans.

the trailer's voices sound like the TGS trailer voices, yay!
also, from the trailer, it looks like Layton is acting as the prosecutor XD but you have to play as both Layton (to solve puzzles) and Phoenix (to find contradictions)?
this is probably the closest to an anime we'll ever see for Phoenix Wright... *hopes that the game dose well enough it'll get adapted to a movie like Eternal Diva*

Professor Layton is one of the DS' best-selling series in both North America and Europe, and Ace Attorney is not at all bad either. If Capcom and Level-5 decided not to localize this game... I would make up a witty consequence, but it's just impossible for this not to be localized.
I'm expecting a formal announcement (including voiced trailer) by GDC or E3.

Yes, but Ace Attorney is a visual novel series and Layton is a Puzzle Collection with a connecting story line. There's not much grafical/musical horse power needed for either of the two. It's a prooven fact that an Ace Attorney game fits on a GBA Catridge. Because that's where they started out.
And Layton proofs that the good ol' DS already CAN handle all those cut scenes. So there's really not much need for the abilities of the 3DS... That's like releasing Kirby 64 on the Wii.

Eternal Diva is being released before the 4th game, when timeline-wise, it should have been released the other way around, like it did in Japan. By Eternal Diva fans of the series should already have been familiar with Jean Descole. It's simple, and definitely not as confuzzling as Suzumiya Haruhi, that was just mad, lmao.
That also applies to characters that Layton and Luke already seem familiar with in the movie, like Remi Altava and Inspector Clamp Grosky. :D Yes they did not magically appear out of nowhere. :D

It has to be said, voiceover for the whole game would be pretty freakin' awesome. But I feel if it used throughout the whole game, it might change the feel a little bit too much. For example, I only just started playing the first Layton game (Props to me!) and i felt in
the first cutscene, some of Luke's line's felt a little robotic... Just my opinion though. The voices are awesome though it must be said.

Hey. I am the girl who has her DS switched to English almost permanently. And I can ensure you that, NO, the game does NOT come with multiple languages.
I assume all the spoken dialouge didn't fit onto the catridge twice. X-x

Hah, I assume it's different everywhere.
On my AA games (Yes, I know this is about Prof. Layton, but it's relevant.), all games have all different pre-set languages, selectable from the menu screen.
PW has English and French
JFA has English, French and German.
T&T has English Only.
...did this add anything useful to the conversation?
Anyway, my point is, it seems games are different in language depending on title.

Hmm, yeah, would Capcom be distributing this in the West? Layton (Level 5) seemed to be heavily pushed/distributed? by Nintendo (and PW wasn't.) The sales for PW are poor because often nobody can find the games, not new anyway, unless you import the JP versions. (Let's see... Nintendo is actually the official distributor for Capcom games in AU, and ask them anything about the non-existent PW3 and you'll get an instruction to play this month's great release of MillionHeir My Scene Babiez Budget Detective Club like it's somehow equivalent. And there was only a small window to purchase PW1 and 2.) People seem to complain on forums all the time they can't find the games, so it's clearly a worldwide issue
