Looks like Wright is a go. I made a similar topic at the old forums; I'm reposting it since odds are we'll get word soon. New information has been italicized, and if this does turn out true I'll redo the entire topic or make a new one. If it doesn't turn out true, well, I'll be having a three-course meal of crow, humble pie, and my own foot, I guess. Rumors of a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 expansion have been bandied about for a long time now, given Capcom's track record and the lack of post-release DLC characters for the original Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Now "lupinko", a source who leaked MVC3's roster, is saying said game is real, and will be shown off at Comic-Con this weekend. He's since been backed up by rumors from other sites, and it's now considered a given that at the very least Capcom will be announcing some new content for MvC3 (their schedule mentions "the future of the game"), if not an entire expansion a la Super Street Fighter IV. Rather than leak the whole roster like last time, lupinko is teasing character leaks in a NeoGAF thread and on twitter. Interspersed with the tweets was this one: Quote: なるほど、ハイプになるだよ!(`_´)ゞ ("Naruhodo, haipu ni naru da yo!") "Haipu ni naru da yo" is just a way of saying "get hype", a pretty common saying when MvC (or heck, any gaming) news is involved. The real interesting part is "Naruhodo". Now, Phoenix's last name in Japanese is "Naruhodou", while "Naruhodo" is just "I see", or "That's right". And then there's that emoticon, which a few people have characterized as "someone pointing." lupinko later noted that he'd hinted at two 'gimme' characters in his early tweets, and while he never said who they were, they're largely considered to be Phoenix and Strider Hiryu. The NeoGAF thread also mentioned that Ryota Niitsuma, the game's director, apparently mentioned having voice work for Phoenix done. While I can't find a source for that, he did mention Phoenix was high on his list of possible DLC characters a couple of months back. So, did lupinko actually just out everyone's favorite blue lawyer for UMvC3? Or is he/she just pulling our legs? The game is now confirmed, and advertises a dozen new fighters. We've only seen four of them so far, Wright not among them, so his inclusion is still up in the air. We'll find out in a few days. Until then, |

From what I've heard from that thread, Ultimate MVC3 will be announced at Comic-Con with 12 Characters (not including Jill and Shuma) raising the roster from 38 to 50. Phoenix sounds like he's definitely in. Knowing Capcom, they won't turn down the opportunity to make more money. |

Since I doubt Capcom won't get sales on the supposed new MvC3, canning Phoenix Wright would be another dump on the fans, especially after screwing Mega Man over. MMU cancelled, MML3 cancelled. Despite the various iterations of Mega Man, Capcom's mascot for Christ sake, he's not even in MvC3. Of course, the Star Force version is hinted to be part of the added roster. I dunno, it just seems that Capcom's not winning the fans over lately, so come Comic-Con, we'll see how it goes. |

Before the MML3 fiasco I trusted 100% on Capcom putting the Blue Defender in UMvC3, but now I really don't know what to think. Still, GETO HAIPU! |
