It's different when the DLC is only locked by time, not by payment.

It's a cheap way to get you to come back to play new puzzles between game releases so you keep the game on your mind. So it isn't completely innocent, but the extra puzzles are completely unnecessary to complete and you can ignore them if you want. They also finally gave a small incentive for doing them in Miracle Mask.

On the other hand, the PL vs. AA DLC sounds awesome. Free concept art and non-canon cases? YES! Doesn't matter if that's on-cart or not, in my opinion.

Yeah, that's what I was hinting at. What sucks though is that Wi-Fi doesn't seem to work with my original DS AT ALL. It works completely fine with all my other wireless devices. Hopefully when I get a 3DS, it will be compatible.

I had problems with the original DS's Wi-Fi too. Something about the access point where I live causes it to deny the DS's connection, something about it being super slow?

The 3DS in DS mode has the exact same problem too, because the hardware is simulating the original DS. Outside of DS mode it works just fine.

What I ultimately did is connect to the free Wi-Fi in a McDonald's and "downloaded" the DLC. You may need to use a web browser on the system first to accept the terms and conditions though.

The DS only does WEP (weakest encryption possible). It's so bad that it can be cracked in tens of seconds. And this was known back when the DS came out. Nintendo didn't bother adding support to it and the hardware was so ill planed that they can't add support for WPA to games running on new hardware like the 3ds.

Ah, right. Almost forgot that could also be the problem: the network has to be open or WEP. My problem was different though, as the connection that failed was an open network. The DS (and 3DS in DS mode) couldn't even see it because the access point denied it because it's slow, or something.

Oh, and nice alternate acronym for WEP there. I like it.

The WEP thing drove me nuts. And then I even went out and bought that stupid USB connector thing for the DS and it did nothing. I wanted to play Mario Kart DS with everyone but couldn't. Of course, now I don't have that problem with Mario Kart 7, but now none of my friends who played MKDS care about MK7. Go figure. (I'll still play with other people online though, so I'm fine with it.)

The online component of the original DS probably wasn't something that Nintendo bothered putting much effort into. There are very few original DS games out there that have any form of worthwhile online play. I think they got their act together with the 3DS and Wii U. Speaking of Wii U, WHERE ARE THE GAMES!!!!???? Why would they focus on the 3DS only and give the Wii U next to nothing!? I just don't understand the logic behind some game companies. :grey:

Nintendo poorly handled the first year of the 3DS and the first year of the Wii U. They just wanted to get the Wii U out before Christmas.
The big Wii U games are coming-just like how the good 3DS games have been hitting lately. But for now there's no games to buy for Wii U.
