No, I'm pretty sure they were digital as well. Nintendo had a whole promotion where if you bought a 3DS XL, they would give you a free eShop game and Mario and Layton were on the list.

Retail games that are also on the eShop are always priced the same amount. That's probably one of the reasons why people don't bother with the eShop much.

Now, retail games range from $19.99 to $39.99 most of the time (notable exception: SMTIV is $49.99. Get the box, all that extra stuff is worth it). First party titles usually are in the upper range of that, at least on first release. Third party titles are generally up there too unless the game has less content, in which case the price is lower.

eShop exclusives have a wide variety of prices depending on their content. DSi games usually are just a few dollars. 3DS games that have a narrow genre or are short tend to be less than 10 dollars (like puzzle games, platformer games, and the Guild series). There are some that are in the $15-25 range, especially first party titles. But I don't recall any exclusives going higher than that.

Personally, I'd accept if AA5 was released with a $29.99 price tag because it would have most likely been priced $39.99 or $34.99 if it was released on a cart. I'd be disappointed if it was higher than that. $24.99 feels like a sweet spot for me though.

And to those considering a 3DS: there's a lot of good games on it, so it'll be worth it. Unlike the Vita where there seem to be so few.

Could someone make a list of how to get all Angel Starr's lunchbox ? This achievement really is the most boring thing I've ever seen in an Ace Attorney so far, but I still want to obtain it, and don't want to do PW1 case 5 ever and ever just for that.

That's the biggest mistake I have seen from this. Hands down.

And I had such high hopes for this Trilogy. They didn't even add iPhone 5/iPod Touch 5 widescreen support.

My local used game store actually has all of them for pretty cheap, some of them even brand new. I don't own the DS trilogy (I played to original on iOS and the other two on WiiWare), so I've started getting them. A few months ago, I picked up a near-mint condition copy of the original Ace Attorney for only $15. Everything was in great condition from the cartridge label, case insert, and manual. There was a new copy for $20, but I thought I'd just save some money and get it cheaper. Personally for me, I think that $15 is a steal. The difference between the DS version and the iOS HD version is night and day. No lag, excellent sound quality, and graphics that, while lower quality, have a charming and crisp retro aesthetic to them.

Though I was joking, I wouldn't mind of someone did that.
Anyway, I can't really find them where I live, and due to me not having/wanting a credit card, I can't really order one...
