I'm pretty sure Sam Riegel will return but two things striked me as odd:
1. They used Ben Judd's Objection! and not Riegel's Dual Destinies Objection! :eh?:

2. They used the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 1 logo and not the new one. :udgy:

but I am so HYPED for this. Nearly back to back English - Ace Attorney titles!

When does this game take place? :phoenix:

I guess so, but even with your first reasoning, the reveal had voices and that was in 2011 (2010?) i think?
The worse part is that no voices were even in the Azran Legacies trailer, heck it didn't even get a real trailer.
I hope Dual Destinies will at least have the voices, even if it's a sound clip or two. :larry:

So this game will be somewhere around 5. Phoenix wil be from around T&T.

Glad to see an official release confirmed! Also, if you're like me and insane to the point that you pause trailers to look for names, you can see that Mahoney's named "Aria", Yutorino Garder is named "Johnny Smiles", and Olive is named "Olivia".

So has there been a date for the next Nintendo Direct? If the next one is this month and a trailer for AA:DD is shown, then it would barely fit Capcom's definition of "very soon", assuming they haven't shown anything new regarding AA:DD beforehand.

How likely is it that they'll cast someone other than Sam Riegel? Or is there no way at all to tell? Just wondering. Aside from that thought though, I'm super excited. Maybe even moreso than for Dual Destinies...

Happy that the crossover has been confirmed for localization! Yay! ...Although I am extremely disappointed there has been no news about the release date of Dual Destinies. This would have been the perfect opportunity for announcing something about the game and give it some marketing to non-AA players.

I believe Judd's objection is very commonly recognized plus it's supposed to be the younger Phoenix Wright from the first trilogy. That said, Sam Riegel will most likely do it. I don't know who else or why they'd switch, but it remains to be seen if he tweaks his voice for this game.

News we've been expecting to hear for well over a year finally comes! I don't mind waiting another 5 or 6 months to get it to be honest. Hopefully we'll get news on Touch Detective 3 soon too. It's taken a bit longer than the DS, but the 3DS is really starting to come into its own.

Wow, I almost gave up on this game actually...no wait, not almost. I DID give up on this game. It was released almost a full year ago in Japan, wasn't it? In fact, I remember, I tried a month ago to find the translations of the game or the cutscenes just so I could vaguely experience the game. Well, yay, it's back! I sound unexcited but that's because I'm very sleepy. This is good. Very very good. Very very very very good. closes eyes and falls asleep

Now that I think about it, even if it wasn't announced on the Nintendo Direct, it would have been obvious the game was going to be localized anyway. Level 5 knows too well that Layton has great sales in NA and Europe. The only good thing is that the 99.9% chance of localization is now 100%. And I'm surprised I'm being a bit negative at the news. As probably the only person who is feeling a bit letdown about this, I should be all happy about the announcement. Perhaps, for some odd reason, it's the visuals of the game that don't look too appealing for me.

I am not that surprised that DD did not get a release date. At least in the West the Professor Layton series has gotten far more attention than the Ace Attorney series from Nintendo. Mask of Miracle had it first official announcement and trailer in a Nintendo Direct last July and Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy was officially announced (sans trailer but with info on a basic release date) earlier this year in another Nintendo Direct. It should also be known that Nintendo has been the publisher for all the past games in the Layton Series. I am not sure if that is happening here (since Level 5 is trying to branch out into the US market themselves) but I think its safe to say that even in Nintendo was not handling overseas publishing the past relationship that they have with Level 5 would make them likely to help promote the game in one of there Nintendo Direct's. Capcom has much less of a relationship with Nintendo regarding Ace Attorney with the only connection being that Nintendo of Australia published the first two games in that region but that is a much weaker relationship that Nintendo has with the Layton series.

Yes, yes, yes! You guys have no idea how loudly I screamed from happiness while watching the nintendo direct today! @Mint Pepper That's a hard question in a way. I believe it's some kind of alternative universe in the medieval times or something. There will be witch hunts, knights and such things form what I understood.

That one was mostly cutscenes and story exposition between Layton and Wright, this one is almost all gameplay with some action-focused cutscenes near the end. Otherwise, putting "Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney" with Phoenix's name in small letters under it wouldn't be very clear that both characters take starring roles. Yes, this is GREAT news and I am so excited \o/ You can watch the trailer also via the eShop on the 3DS. There is also a German version (for us with German setting at least. I guess there will be also trailers in respective languages for the other EGIFS countries). Only the trailer text is translated so far - the gameplay tectboxes which you can see in the trailer are still in English. But I would not rule out that there won't be the other EGIFS languages (since PL has so far always been Multi-5 AFAIK?). Best part is that on the German trailer at the end it states "Frühjahr 2014" (spring 2014), so it got a bit clearer on the EU release date. Oooooh yeah! My theory: the voice is probably Riegel, but maybe they just don't want to confirm it yet. Level-5 is a more reliable company, so they might announce most voice actors at the same time, just as they did with the Japanese release. PLv.PW:AA has voiced cutscenes, plus voice acting at key points during gameplay, so that's good I guess.

Just when it seemed Nintendo were, I presumed unknowingly, crushing by dreams by calling Azran Legacy the last time we see the professor, that Objection happened. I'm genuinely emotional about this announcement. It's been rough the last couple of years to be a Western AA fan, but now after this as well as DD, hopefully all that is behind us. What a great year we have coming.

I'm guessing by the fact that Europe's trailer says Early 2014 and the US' says just 2014 that we will be getting it later in the year, probably in the fall. I thought I remembered that Azran Legacies would be coming out in the US early 2014, but I can't find anything to confirm that. I'm just glad that the anticipation of waiting for a new AA game won't stop after DD's release!
