A Demo of Dual Destinies is now available on the eShop!

Mod note: ...Or will be shortly, at least. During this morning's Nintendo Direct, it was announced that the English Dual Destinies demo will be available later this morning on the eShop. Keep checking!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I'M AT WORK GODDAMN IT

Actually, not "now", but in, like, 5 or 10 minutes, when the NDirect ends.

Hey thanks for using my topic guys, I would have been fine if you had just deleted mine though. :edgy:

I really wasn't expecting this "the demo is out NOW" kind of thing. I guess they found a way to surprise us after all.

I have an essay to write that's due at noon though, so I guess I won't be able to play it until later :sadshoe:

This may seem like a stupid question but, Does anybody know how I can find the newest nintendo direct?

When it does go up, could someone post how many SD card blocks it takes up? Mine is dangerously close to being full. I know I'm going to have to get a new one before the game launches, but I haven't got round to it yet.

I've been checking for around 10 minutes, and nothing yet. They did say after this presentation. Was that too vague?

The demo isn't out yet for both regions. I think tomorrow will be a better day to check the eShop for demos.

$39.95 in Australia. I guess it's less than the upper price range of $60 for 3DS games, but still…
D'oh well; I'm playing the demo as we speak, so it doesn't matter~

Anyone know if this is the E3 Demo or the PAX demo?

It would be great if it was an Apollo demo, so we could hear him.

The US demo is now available everyone. It's only about 300 blocks.

Just played through. It's the same demo as was released in Japan (so pretty much the E3 demo, but with the animated intro + trailer at the end.)

In the trailer at the end, so we can see that Blackquill's "黙りな!" has been localized as "Silence!" There were one or two other quick flashes of names as well (Biyouin's was "L'belle" or something like that, and Rei's was "Chaucer", I think.)

I had to bite my hand to not scream and scare the crap outta my family.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO!!! I will bring my DS to school today to play it in the four hours I have between class! (because I don't have too many assignments right now, and I know when to do them, so I feel no guilt this time xD )

I'm soooooo glad that I brought my 3DS with me.

Just played it. Wow, it feels like a AA game all right. What I didn't like too much were the voices, and that Simon's "Shut it!" became "Silence!" (Still I was happy that they put that trailer in there)

Unfortunately I can't buy it when it comes out but I'll buy it eventually, this gave me a really good taste of AA awesomeness.

Less than a month now!

My thoughts on the demo....
Spoiler:
The opening intro was OK. The animation was very good, but I'm not sure what to think of the voices. I guess I'm used to the high-quality Professor Layton cutscenes.
The 3D works very nicely. The sprites look good in 3D too.
I loved it when the Judge incinerated the 4th wall. I was laughing pretty hard. Good to have Capcom's humor back.
There was a blatant grammar mistake in the first testimony. "that rule out the possibility of....(so on)"
The music is great, the sprites are charming... gosh, I can't wait for this game....
I didn't like the trailer at the end, I felt as if I was getting nailed by spoilers! I have to quick tell my friend not to play it unless he'll find out Edgeworth is in it!!!!!

The best part about the demo being released today is how I coincidentally enough received my 3DS XL today, so I'll actually be able to play it! Now I just have to wait for the console to charge. ^_^;;;

Rei's was "O'Conner", I believe.

I would like to point out that at the end of the demo, during the short preview video, you can see certain *returning characters* that are spoilers. So, for the people that want to experience the game but don't want case 5 spoilers, don't play this demo!

Post subject:  Re: Dual Destinies demo available on eShop

Finished the demo earlier today.

Spoiler: Demo Spoilers (if You're Into Not Spoiling Demos) and Case 1 DD Spoilers
Honestly, the demo felt very underwhelming. Everything was a bit fast-paced, and the Mood Matrix seems like it'll be too easy to actually matter in-game. At least the first contradiction wasn't "lol this autopsy report says you're wrong". That is the lowest contradiction in the history of AA.

The VAs are pretty nice. Sam Riegel did a nice job during the cutscenes, but his "OBJECTION!" voice clip is still not all that great. I didn't press anything, though. Athena's VA, from what I've heard, is going to fit her character pretty well! Interesting how they don't show that part at the beginning of Case 1... Probably to surprise people with the whole "Athena was the original attorney" thing. Interesting tactic.

Overall, the demo left me wanting a lot more Guess that's their plan, after all.

Post subject:  Re: Dual Destinies demo available on eShop

@ultramario1998: Or at least turn it off/return to Home screen as soon as you reach zoomed-in Nick with speed lines.

@Yellow Magician: You don't really have to wait for it to charge... Brand-new, it'll have enough battery on it for you to go to the eShop and start the download (or at least mine did... I was able to update and play a couple of demos before having to charge it for the first time).

As for the demo itself... S-so pretty! And Nick's voice suits him better than I was expecting. Not perfect, to me, but satisfactory. I appreciate the ability to skip through dialogue even on the first run; it might have annoyed me without the conversation log to tell me what I've already clicked through, as the fast-forward was how I used to keep track of that, but since it's there it's all good to me.

... I'm now inspired to go download Blender or something and try to recreate the models, now that I can see the real thing for myself.

Spoiler: "Trailer at the end... not really a spoiler."
Glad to know Blackquill's voice will not conflict with my headcanon of Edgeworth's voice. Well... Edgeworth's old voice, that is. The... hmm, what's the word... texture of his voice is quite different from what I'd expect from the old Edgeworth. Which is good. I won't accidentally imagine Blackquill while I play through AAI and AAI:PP
