There hasn't been a source yet as far as I know. It certainly sounds like her, but we won't know for sure until the game is out and we can see the credits (unless she confirms it elsewhere.)

well, if the info is on the Ace Attorney wiki, then it's official

The only "source" right now is the way I perceived her voice with my own two ears. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure of it, and there's no official info about it right now as far as I know.

I actually like Phoenix's normal talking voice more than his shouting voice, it fits him much more than I expected it to. His "Objections" just don't have the same "oomph" that the original VA did.

I played the demo and what I've noticed about the voice acting is that...it sounds like it's done in a recording studio. I don't believe that's Phoenix Wright talking, I know it's some dude in a room with a really good microphone. His delivery is so cringingly stale. Cykes is okay but I found her cuter before I heard her voice, to be frank.

When everyone was critical when we first heard his Objection! in the first trailer, I was optimistic but gosh, I hope it improves in the game. While I love the cutscenes, they look beautiful, the voice acting kinda ruins it and when I played the demo, it didn't feel right...I really wish Shu Takumi did GS5 rather than the GK guy (sorry, I don't know his name.) In my opinion, I wasn't immersed in the demo as I had been with the AA games in the past. It felt like a fan localisation, honestly (no offense, AAI2 localisers.)

I did play the demo at 5am so perhaps the gameplay will feel a bit better at another time when I'm not tired. But I was disappointed when I found out they basically turned the concept of GS4 on their head and made Phoenix a nervous 24 year old again. Let's see how it plays out, maybe it'll better than I fear. Love you guys, talk to you later.

Is Athena's VA the same as Haruhi Suzumiya's? They sound similar! (And Haruhi's VA can sing! so it may just be!)
(Sorry if this was already stated!)

.

Well, something to understand about the demo
Spoiler: Very Minor Spoiler about case 1
The demo does not really resemble the 1st case of the full game, the 1st case plays out differently then the demo shows. It would not suprise me if not a lot of work went into the demo and maybe they just tried to push something out? I am not sure. Honestly I am probably a moron who has no idea what he is talking about.

So, after re-watching the end-of-demo video, Biyouin's name is "L'Belle" and Rei's is "O'Conner"
It seems Capcom discovered the apostrophe!

Also, Simon's "Silence" sounds... ick...

And here I am thinking that the Gyakuten Saiban 5 Nintendo Direct trailer is going to be "localized"/dubbed over. :I My epileptic tree is jossed. OTL Nah, one of the epileptic trees I put some thinking on to was confirmed anyway. -u-

ANYWAY, I like their English voices. Phoenix sounds like Liam O'brien *shot*. I like Athena's slightly deeper voice compared to the Japanese version, but I think she's lacking a little bit of energetic emotion. No big deal, however.

After taking another look at the trailer, I notice that Athena addresses Apollo as "Monsieur Justice" at one point. I don't think that's how she'll always be calling him, but it does suggest that her "learning law abroad" isn't exclusive to Germany. Has she been to various parts of Europe?

"You never know until you try, Monsieur Justice!"

She probably was being cheeky, but the use of "monsieur" is a bit odd. It just seems thrown in there for no reason.

On the other hand, the previous line shown half-a-second before goes "...and run around the court a bit!"

...I'm already very familiar with how she acts, but somehow, she seems even more hyper than usual. Maybe it's just me?

I really hope Athena's studies didn't take place exclusively in Germerica; there is more to Europe, in case the writers didn't know.

I might be a bit hard on them. If you think about it, they at least sent Ema to England, whereas everyone who goes abroad in the Japanese version goes to America.

Maybe it's now expanded to Eurmerica. And Ema went off to "Europe", but it was never mentioned exactly where. For all we know, there could be a hidden country of Switzerginia.

...Coming up with names is fun.

This and her title apparently being "Court Révolutionnaire" would seem to suggest her studying in a Francophone country, although that "Los geht's" just confuses things. There are places with overlap between the two languages (though language divides), and she could have just studied in more than one location, but I hope she doesn't just spout phrases in random languages like that's a valid character trait.

I played the demo a couple of days ago (and am probably going to go over it a few more times). Personally, I really liked it.

Visually, the 3D looks really great. Of course, it doesn't really hold much of purpose, but it just makes it feel so much more real. The animations are really smooth too. I enjoyed the anime cutscenes as well. With them in, it started to feel almost like an anime show.

I did personally enjoy it just as much as the other games. It's only the first case (and not a whole one, even with that), but from what I can tell, it seems really good. I didn't like that Phoenix's personality has just reverted back to normal, though.

As for mechanics, I really like the mood matrix. I like the idea of questioning peoples emotions. That being said, I didn't really like the way they explained Athena's gift. For Maya, it was explained that she was a spirit medium, then the magatama came in. This is just me being really nitpicky, but if there was something I didn't like. Then it would probably just be that they didn't explain it. Maybe, it'll become clear later.

I tend to feel voice acting is hardly ever brilliant over here, especially in games. I'm not saying I dislike all dubs, there are some amazing ones, but sometimes Western voices in translated Japanese series can come across as corny. That being said, I don't think it's that bad at all. I probably would have preferred the original voice acting, but that's just me. I think Athena's voice suits her character, and it makes sense for Phoenix's voice to be deeper. Anyway, I wonder what the other voices will sound like. :maya:

So we have the English VA's for the protagonists.

Phoenix Wright: Sam Riegel (His voice is OK, I think he did just as good as Takayuki Kondō)
Apollo Justice: Orion Acaba (I never heard it, so we'll need to pick a tone from his voice range to match KENN)
Athena Cykes: Wendee Lee (I really like her voice, and it's not anime-ish like Megumi Han)

Has Wendee Lee been confirmed yet? I don't remember seeing anything about it.
EDIT: Never mind, found out about it in another topic.

Whoever it is, I like her voice. I'm glad they didn't make Athena too high-pitched. That was one of my problem's with Mia's voice in GS3.

One should probably point out that it's hard to be 'European', since it's a continent consisting of 50 countries. Athena needs to get her s*it together.

Does that mean in the Japanese version, she's visited all 50 US states? I dunno how that's going to compare to visiting 50 countries, though. I mean, a large majority of us Americans can only speak one language: American English. Not to mention, not every country has only a single prominent language.

Goddess of Wisdom, Justice, and Language, apparently. It's too bad she can't understand whale.

okay i agree, the term "electrifying" isn't the right term, but i think what would really describe him well is he's passionate and got a strong presence, especially in court.
so i think a voice actor who could give the right amount of energy and his new found "maturity" would've been great. again,i hope this guy somehow manages to amaze me
