We've been hearing tidbits about this lately here and there, but here's the beef: Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney will be in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian when the game launches on March 28, if the crossover's official site over at Nintendo UK is to be believed.

Don't think that's definitive evidence? What about the existence of a German site, a French one, a Spanish version and their Italian counterpart, all dedicated to this assembled adventure of the ace attorney and the amazing archaeologist. That should be proof enough!

European fans, rejoice! :D

UPDATE (02/04): All languages built into the cart confirmed. Automatically chosen depending on your 3DS' language.

...I thought this was pretty well-known from the initial announcement?

Still, if it's confirmation that all 5 languages will be on a single cart, that is quite nice. A shame the US version'll probably be English-only...

Australian versions would probably be identical to the European ones IIRC, well, I guess this is a good time to brush up on my Italian skills if ever I want to change the language!

Yep, it was clear after the different Nintendo Directs had different names for Espella.

You do know that US versions tend to just strip away the other translations, right?

Rejoicing indeed, though folks have said it was obvious if you were paying attention xP

I'll admit I was a little worried we wouldn't after AA5 ended up without a language option.

Level-5 is handling everything on this one though, unless I'm remembering wrong, so there's probably much, MUCH less to worry about as opposed to had Capcom been doing it after all the AA5 malarkey.

Considering all the Layton games are translated for most of Europe, not surprising :-)
Would be interesting if it was all 5 languages on one cart!

...Seriously? I watched the Direct with the announcement and I never saw it being implied...? In any case, no-one ever reported about that here. And if they did, they didn't make it a big enough deal - this is the first Ace Attorney-related Multi5 title since AJ:AA.

Should it come to that, consider this thread a "look at all this European websites" thread... Although I have been following CR recently and I never saw this reported, I honestly haven't, and I checked before posting... I wouldn't have posted this news post had it been "well-known" or widely reported.

I'm so happy with how Level-5 is treating Europe lately, first Azran Legacy and now this. :redd: It's true all previous Layton games have been translated to those languages, so I already expected this game to be no exception.

I would bet that we'll get a release date in the [expected] February Nintendo Direct.

Why does Flynch wear a DEFENSE attorney's badge on his lapel, instead of a prosecutor badge?

Hmm we're accustomed to it being a defence badge on the lapel because of Phoenix but it's perfectly possible it's just a gold pin to keep his lapel in place.

You can hardly count Klavier. That was a change out of necessity, and not because they wanted to localize the puns for the German audience.
