Hey, to get off the subject of who Phoenix's new voice is... Why don't we speculate on who Maya's voice actress is?

While I had no problem with Wendy Lee in DD, I agree it shouldn't be her

Well in the new Nintendo video of an interview we got to hear her speak for the first time, even if only for one line. Also my question was which actress do YOU want voicing Maya. My money would be on someone like Tara Strong.

Oh, wow! Phoenix does not sound that bad! I can't tell who ether of them are, but Maya's voice sounds a little... deep? I don't know what it is, but there just seems to be something off compared to the voice I hear in my head when I read her text, but it sounds good.

Why do they have different voices for the UK/US?

It's the same language, and I'm presuming both will have a US accent anyway so what's the point?

While I had no problem with Wendy Lee in DD, I agree it shouldn't be her Spoiler: Dual Destinies spoilers considering all the Maya references in Case 5, I'm pretty sure we'll see Maya again in GS6, so having Wendy Lee voice two characters at the same time who could interact with each other could seem weird unless she has really amazing range as an actor.

Plus, it wouldn't be likely at all since she's part of the same group as Sam. I'm still not sure what exactly causes this segmentation, though. If I did, it would help a lot in figuring out which voice actors are likely to be part of a given production.

So, the "Objection!" we heard in the previous trailer was indeed a temp voice? Actually, it's hard to tell. His voice in these scenes aren't bad, but if he doesn't give enough oomph behind his shouts, I wouldn't consider his performance better than Narumiya's. Maya's voice is fine. I didn't have a problem with her when Kiritani played her anyway. As always, Chris Miller does a fantastic job as Layton. Things are looking up.

Starting to think part of Phoenix's OBJECTION being bland is because it does not have the "Ku-shing" sound that usually comes with it.

For now I got nothing, the bit we can hear is too short and too unclear to accurately identify. Will have to wait for better clips to be released before I could make an accurate guess.

I'd say it sounded a bit too grown up, perhaps more fitting for Mia. Though this is all based off a rather muted one line of her saying "I'm Maya Fey" so I don't think we should really make many judgements about her voice just yet.

Actually only Luke is voiced by a different voice actress in the UK/US version, otherwise they use the same VAs (mostly American actors).
