Maybe they added references specificly for the NA release like they did with AA, or the localizing for the NA consoles, or just plain old market studies that show that americans have no interest in Ace Attorney and it could kill some sell, but I don't know, I'm just happy, for me it's pretty soon, I was expecting winter 2014 not a back to school release!

I'm so happy that we finally have an actual release date for this game. And even though this is an extremely small thing, I'm wicked happy that the box art doesn't have those pillars that the Europe one had.

Really? Good. I could have sworn that in the first NA trailer for this game, the defendant/important character "Espella" actually had the name Aria.
I'm just surprised how long it took them to give us a trailer that already existed. This was the UK version. I don't know about you guys, but is Level 5 being lazy.....? Of course, you could blame the same thing on the Phoenix Wright trilogy for being delayed so long. Who knows. My speculation means nothing.

I think its Level 5, not Capcom that is behind this game. It would make sense since Nintendo was the publisher for all the Layton games by Level 5 and IIRC published the game in Europe. I also think the reason for this delay was the fact that Azran Legacy was delayed by over three months between the EU and NA and Level 5 likely wanted that game to sell before bringing this out. Now as to why Azran Legacy was delayed I have no idea.

True, but they did do through with the VA switch so they were not as lazy as they would be here if they stuck with the European version of Luke.

No kidding. I had only been in college for about a month (if that) when the game was first announced. Now I've just graduated and North American release is still a couple months away.
So yeah, I basically spent my entire college career waiting for this game to come to America. Good thing I found other stuff to do in the meantime!

The UK version of the original game came out almost nine months after the US version so unless NOE was sitting on a fully translated game for a long time its far more likely that it was the European version reddubbed. Its likely due to the fact that Azran Legacy was pushed back several months. It's kind of a domino effect, so the real question is why was that game delayed.

I'm actually the opposite of you... when the JP launch trailer came out, I was completely hyped for this game. Now after waiting so long and seeing Level 5 postpone the localization for so long... and they might fail to localize it at all. (there were many UK phrases and typos in the Azran Legacies. This was discussed in another topic.)
Now they're not even going to bother to localize Luke's VA? Unless it's like Defender123 said, this is basically the UK version with a few American tweaks in it. I kind of hate Luke's voice in the UK version. His NA voice is much, much better. Oh well, I shouldn't cry over split milk. Now, if they changed Prof. Layton's voice actor, then I'd quit.
Also one other thing about that tweet... I think that kinda confirms Luke won't be in whatever "Layton 7" is. Or there just won't be any voice acting. (Actually, I'm thinking the latter of the two...)
