Capcom fansite page: http://www.capcom.co.jp/game/content/?p=14099

Unfortunately, details are still pending on this (probably Japan-only) event, but the logo sure looks nice:

A "real escape game" is a type of live puzzle event, where participants work together to solve a mystery within a time limit, aided by clues left at the scene to be investigated. For more details, check this official site in English: http://realescapegame.com/whatisreg/

So... any chance this would actually hit San Fransisco some time?

This event sounds cool. A DGS themed-real escape game would be an experience to remember, I'm sure, and it's nice you can work in teams to solve the puzzles. It sounds like a social event I wouldn't mind attending. As for if whether or not it has a chance of getting held in US, that 3rd link you gave us reveals that at least 2 of these already happened in San Francisco not too long ago, so perhaps it does have a chance?

I don't know the logistics behind these kinds of events so I wouldn't know how difficult it would be to bring this overseas, but even those who don't know what the Ace Attorney series is could get into this if they're puzzle/mystery fans and would like to try something different. I know I would, especially if this is advertised enough.

Uwaaah, this looks too amaziiing! I wanna participaaaaate... :larry:

As I was watching that video, I was leaning in to my laptop screen because I was so excited! It looks like such a good time, and it would be so amazing to get all your friends together and solve the mysteries~
It reminds me of a Japanese gameshow I've watched. They had a similar idea, but in much smaller scale ofcourse because it was just a single challenge between three people in the team, and they had to solve a bunch puzzles to escape from the room before the time limit ran out and the ceiling crushing them.

Siigh, how come we can't do neat fan things like they do in Japan? :sadshoe:

An Ace Attorney event like this in the West would be incredible! I was lucky enough to go to a similar sort of thing in Japan at the 20th Anniversary event for the Detective Conan series when it was in Nagoya. It was a little different - a murder mystery set up with puzzles to solve to detail who the killer was all set up in a marquee in the middle of Oasis 21. So, I am guessing maybe an Ace Attorney event, being a murder case, could be set up like this in a portable display. If this is the case, logistically it wouldn't be as difficult I think to bring to the west. The only problem (what I found in Japan) was that they didn't bother to translate the Conan event into English, making it REALLY hard to solve the murder! But who knows, given enough support, I don't think it would be too difficult to translate the puzzles of the event for a western market.
Anyway, it would be so cool if we could have this event too! Though I doubt it would come to Australia... Poo... :sadshoe:

You guys are complaining about it not coming to America and Australia, but it's called the Great London Court Murder Case. If they're going to use our city, they might as well bring it here...

Ah well, I can dream...

Haha, we always miss out.

Still I saw their video explaining what this is, and it looks like a ton of fun! I wish there was some equivalent to try out!

I'll make a wild guess and say the event is held around the release date of the actual game, so they might be waiting for the official announcement of the DGS release date.

I think you only get an hour to solve it.

I couldn't find anybody to go with me for this DGS Escape, but I found a friend who is going to do the Conan crossover Escape from the Magician's Castle with me near the end of June, and we're doing the beginner version, so I'm gonna be all practiced and ready for the DGS one~

Went to this last night. We were one step away from winning, but just didn't make it :larry:

Lots of fun and well-done! Highly recommend this to anyone else who has the opportunity.

From what I can tell, in most of this real escape games, you're solving puzzles to escape the room. But this time (as the plot would imply), it wasn't about escaping a room at all, but purely about solving the mystery and proving Ryuunosuke innocent. They also came up with a unique system to basically replicate the games. They had one person sitting at the front of the room acting as 'the judge'. You then got all the evidence (the actual physical pieces), and cards that had the witness statements (with one statement per card, like cross-examinations in the games). The game proceeds by finding contradictions between the evidence and the witness statements. You get a black box, and you need to put 1 piece of evidence and 1 witness statement card in the box, bring it to the judge, and yell "Objection!". If you got a valid contradiction, you'll get new evidence/statements, and if you're wrong... nothing happens. But it just somehow happened that the person whose job it was to bring the box to the judge and yell Objection! ended up being me, so I got to yell Objection! a bunch of times, so even though we didn't win, I can't really complain.

Not going to post any pictures or anything (although for this one I didn't really take many that were noteworthy) because of spoilers, but I might once they stop running it. I also bought a floppy folder and a hard folder, because unique original goods *_*

That sounds wonderful, BP. Shouting "Objection!" over and over at someone presiding as the judge is what makes any day worth it. :P

Well, did you guys have to present a case when you "presented", or did the pieces do the talking for you? Also, if I recall, there's a time limit on the game, right? By "didn't win", do you mean your group didn't make it in time? That's harsh.

Nope, you just give them the statement and the present--that's it. So there's nothing technically stopping you from trying to just brute force it...

Except for the hour-long time limit, yes :P Yeah, we were on the final bit when time ran out...
