Capcom have announced an Ace Attorney panel for this year's Tokyo Game Show. The panel will be held on the 22nd of September from 16.00 JST (3.00 EDT, 00.00 PDT, and 8.00 BST) will last for approximately 40 minutes. Ace Attorney series producer Motohide Eshiro and game designer Shinsuke Kodama will be in attendance.

The panel has been described as 'unmissable for Ace Attorney fans' so hopefully there'll be some interesting news to come out of it.

This Shinsuke Kodama guy is credited as a director on said link.

It’s hard to find information on him but apparently he was a planner involved with Dai Gyakuten Saiban.

Pretty easy to guess what we'll get this year.

1) crapton of collaborations, merchandise, and at least 3 different arrange CD. Oldbag voice for Alexa in Japan.
2) another Real Escape Game
3) details + trailer for anime season 2
4) details for the inevitable AA 1-2-3 Collection for Switch
5) maybe teaser for AA7

Yup, but he's credited as Game Designer for VS, so I put that in to avoid confusion, given that we don't yet 100% know what he's doing in the AA series (my bets are taking over from Yamazaki).

'Unmissable' eh? let's hope for an Ace Attorney Switch. Maybe AA7 on the Switch, safe prediction I know.

I wonder if we’re like, romanizing/reading his name wrong.

Because I searched for the guy’s name in JPN and I didn’t see any results for PLVSAA. Only DGS.

It's very possible I am - I was assuming it was this guy, but I'm very willing to be proven wrong - could you link me to the DGS page?

It seems to be the same guy since I did see a jp source saying he was involved with Lost Planet 2.

And...this is the link I found in correlation to DGS, though its Dog/Inu Gyakuten Saiban and not DGS proper, but he is credited as a planner there lol.

lol this guy is confusing to track down. I'm gonna leave it as is for the moment, but willing to update if we find something new on him.

This is hype. I think I'll be able to make it too if I get the chance. AA7 HYPE!

I’d check my games if I had time but I checked twitter and found this:

大逆転裁判1、2のスタッフロールを
確認したら児玉さんかなり
早い段階に出てきてるから
大逆転には密に関わってる人だと思うなー。
これは楽しみだ……。

TGSの逆転裁判ステージに登壇予定の
児玉真佑さんについて調べてみたけど
大逆転裁判1と2の
「企画主任・マネージメント主任」を
されていた方らしい……!

He seems to been credited as the Lead Planner and Manager for DGS1-2. If someone has time to check the credits of the DGS1-2 games, that’d be great.

Oh interesting - still no confirmation on the PLvAA thing though - I'll try check that tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if AA7 was announced due to the rumors last year. And since this presentation supposed to be unmissable and they have said that this year would make all AA fans happy, there'll likely be details on the rumored ports.

...Huh. If they're saying Kodama is a new director (and writer?) for the series, color me pleasantly surprised. Yamazaki seemed pretty done after AA6 and Takumi's made it clear plenty of times over the years that he's not super into the idea of working on the main series anymore (and DGS2 felt like his grand finale to AA in general), so I'm excited to see some fresh blood in the director's chair.

Now the only question is if the new AA is getting revealed in the Nintendo Direct that was just delayed, in Famitsu, or at the panel itself.

Post subject:  Re: Ace Attorney Panel at TGS 2018

No idea who this new director(?) is since I'm not really sure what he did for DGS, but someone new is definitely better than Yamazaki or Takumi since both of them seem to want at least a break from the series (and I really want Takumi to do something not-AA). I wonder if Fuse will also be involved as a co-director or something since he seemed like the most likely choice after SoJ.

A trilogy port, anime season 2 news and AA7 for Switch seem like a given so I'll be original and say, um...AA fighting game. Yeah, who needs Smash when you have your own game?! That's totally going to be a thing!

Oh god, now I'm gonna have to stay up until 2 in the morning to see this.

It's gonna be a long night.

If they're claiming we can't miss it, I'd hope that implies a new game.

Safe predictions are:
1. More info on the anime
2. Switch Ports (Hopefully using 3D models instead of recycling the iOS Trilogy art)
3. A new concert/rerun of the plays etc

More ambitious wishes
1. AA7
2. AAI3
3. New spin off
3. Reboot game

Will the panel be streamed online, or will we have to run around gathering snippets of facts afterwards?

AA panels in previous TGS were always streamed, you needn't worry

Excellent! Let's see... 16:00 JST is 9:00 in my timezone, it's a saturday... I think I can make that! Though, I seem to recall that Bolt used to host the Court Records livestreams. Is someone else going to take over?

Sup (although hopefully Bolt will be there) - So the event will be streamed on CapcomTV's Youtube channel and we'll have a CR stream hosting it with a chat box so people can hype up together

All my safe bets game true (except for them using 3D to remake the trilogy). Pretty bummed no new game was shown though.
