It's now been more than a month since Last Window was released in Japan, and now, we've finally got the first North American trailer, which proves that the localisation of the game is going quite well, and that it will be released in the US (compared to Trace Memory). At least, even if it isn't, you 'll be able to import it, since DS games are region-free :)
In this trailer, you see quite a lot of things, most of them are in-game footage from 1.30. Fans of Hyde's first adventure will recognize a lot from this trailer, including

Mila who's back, but you already knew it :p Also Dunning's angel painting, Pinkie Rabbit, etc...


We also get to see a few pages from the novel, which looks really interesting... And of course, you get to listen to more Satoshi Okubo's awesomeness with some nice music, at least as good as that of the first game, if not better.

Well, now, just enjoy that wonderful trailer, and hope we get a release date quite soon!

Awesome!!

Not getting Trace Memory 2 was a real punch in the gut (I'm still hoping they might bring it over here one day -_-)... but this makes me feel a bit better. I'm so excited for this! Thanks for sharing.

YES! And they're keeping the awesome title, too! I was afraid they would change it to something misleading like "Hotel Dusk: Last Window" just so it would be linked easier to HD.

Great music, great trailer, and good to see Mila is less shy than in HD. The game looks as interactive as HD when it comes to minigames, or even more interactive. And graphics look more dynamic, too.
Also, seems like Summer really took off as a writer. "Secret Word", though it wasn't really his, and five more titles, including best-sellers. Good for Martin :D
The Last Window novel: 127 pages!? Holy fuck, it WILL be a real novel inside the game o_O And about Kyle, too. Summer did say that his next novel would be about Kyle.

All in all, this game looks like it'll be excellent. One of those sequels that, even when the first game was great, could beat their predecessors out of the water, like No More Heroes 2. Darn, I'm getting too hyped.
Anyway, looking forward to a 2010 release date! Maybe fall? Maybe close to Ghost Trick!? This year rocks XD

Yeah, but the trailer won't be as awesome as this one. This one, being fan-made and everything, is better than all JP trailers I've seen together. Really, it surprised me a lot that this is fan-made, it looked incredibly official.

Dude... No waaaaaaaaaay! :ack:

Thinking on it, there are actually a few indicators that this is the case:

-The dialogue font is different from that of the actual game (I thought the developers had just changed it when I initially watched the trailer).
-The music sounds a little off. Don't know why, but if you compare it to the real deal, you'll see (err, hear).
-The name Last Window: Midnight Promise was retained. Not to say it's impossible that they'll actually do that, but Wish Room was localized to Hotel Dusk, so there's at least a chance they'll change this title too.

Oh well, I'm still counting on it making it over here before too long.

EDIT: Eh, maybe not, in regard to the music.

I too noticed the slight change of font, shadowofedgeworth. But smiling Mila...soo cute!

No, we probably won't get a local trailer as good as this one, but seriously? I'll admit, this fan-made trailer was pretty dang nice, but this official trailer was still made of pure awesome!

I prefer the official trailer, but this one was pretty well made. It just annoys me that this guy is intentionally trying to mislead people into thinking it's official.

You mean the way he posted it on YouTube like it was the real deal? Yeah... :nick:

The people discussing it on the GameFaqs thread that Psyche-locked linked to are talking about the possibility of him landing in legal trouble. Sure...

Beh, it's a fanmade thing, and if companies were really pernickety at stopping such things, then most of Youtube would vanish.

...But I could see an order to mark it as "Fanmade" would be plausible; if they can bother contacting him.

Also, as for Charles speaking French in the trailer...I may be jumping to conclusions here, but if he was speaking French for most of the game (until Kyle breaks him, if needed), then it'd be pretty difficult...although he may just say a few French phrases.

Still...smiles all round!

Oh my god this looks so official and authentic.

It's beautiful. I love Mila, she's so cute, especially when she smiles. Man I really hope the localization makes it through.
