Because I'm impatient, I took the time to rip Last Window's soundtrack as a set of 2SF files. However, given that I don't speak Japanese, there are no track names.

Be warned, these aren't 100% accurate. There's a noticeable "echo" effect occasionally - however, the songs are still very close to their ingame counterparts, with several being identical. Someone will probably make a more accurate rip sooner or later. :shoe:

2SF: http://www.mediafire.com/?w2gmiinqz1m

Select tracks on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/BoltGSR

You'll need Vio2SF to play 2SF files in Winamp.

(PS: Yes, there's a number of Hotel Dusk songs as well. Given they have new instrumentation for LW, I left them in.)

Bolt, as I download this, let me say you're made of like 10 kinds of awesome..

... now the real question... Do I spoil myself and listen to the WONDERFUL soundtrack... or do I sit still like a good boy and wait till release date.

... I fear I have no will power in situations involving CiNG.

You've got no willpower? I spoiled myself on a big plot twist. :maggy: Granted, it wasn't entirely on purpose, but still...

Music is smalltime by comparison.

I'm actually listening to the Violet Sky Remix and I think it's just... really AWESOME. I'd loved the version of HD but this one... Incredible !

"Forgetten mystery" is a nice one too...

The composer did a very good job on this OST too. <3

You beauty, Bolt Storm! Absolutely fantastic stuff! 'Course, I only listened to the new Hotel Dusk re-instrumentisations, and they're awesome.

If you want, I've knocked up an unofficial OST cover; think of it as a "thankyou" for doing this.

It's a bit simplistic and shoddy, I know.

From what I've explored, Tracks 1-15 are newly instrumentised Hotel Dusk tracks; they are (in order):
1. Play it Again
2. On The Rocks
3. Violet Sky
4. Sunset Men
5. Hangover Blues
6. Easy Feeling
7. Insomnia
8. Resolution
9. Straight Chaser
10. Slow Steps
11. Rainy Night (Hell yes!)
12. Midnight (or Mystery Night depending on whether you believe the Dusk's Jukebox or the tracklisting)
13. Dream's End
14. Serenity (Rach! :D)
15. Over Easy

I think you can remove the 'unofficial' before 'soundtrack', and replace it by 'original' as Cing has never released any soundtrack before, and probably never will do so (should we really hope for one one day? :p).
But that's an awesome idea you had... yet, I'll still wait until I've beaten the game before listening to this wonderful soundtrack. Okubo is da boss, man :jake:

Music was probably one of the major aspects of HD, and if there's something I wouldn't like is spoiling myself for this sequel, IT IS the music :p
I listened to AJ soundtrack before actually playing the game (I hadn't finished it when I spoiled myself), and I can tell I really didn't enjoy the soundtrack as much as I did for the 3 previous AA games.
To discover a soundtrack ingame is definitely much much better than listening to it before playing the game :p

I ended up only spoiling myself on the HD Remixes and the tune from the trailer. Everything I skipped by if I didn't recognize in 2 beats.

Maaaaan I'm so excited for this. NoA, hurry up with that localization!

... no wait. I don't want you to rush. 'cause I don't want the quality to be any less then HD.

I got it! RareWare, you're doing nothing useful these days since leaving Nintendo. Go build us a time machine.

I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU. THERE'S SO MUCH BEAUTIFUL MUSIC HERE. Seriously, like, at least 30 new/remixed songs? And for a sequel, at that?

OVERANALYZING TIEM:
Tracks 1-16 seem mostly unchanged (see list above; Track 16 is The Long Night). Dunno if they've been rearranged or not, probably not.

These ones have been rearranged, and beautifully:
Track 21 - On The Rocks...?
Track 22 - Violet Sky
Track 24 - Insomnia
Track 25 - Moment of Rest from PL2
Track 26 - The Long Night
Track 33 is a remix of Track 32
Track 36 has the same base chord pattern as Slow Steps.
Track 39 sounds a little like Serenity.
Track 40 - Secrets (SO BEAUTIFUL)
Track 50 - Rainy Night
I think Track 53 might be remixed from High Spirits, but it sounds more like Cooking Mama XD
Track 54 - So Noted/Bookmark Of The Heart (Ahhhh...Are they actually going to play this in the menu? I think I might faint...)

As requested, removed "Unofficial", and put "Original".

Enjoy!

And thank ye, Jasper. I too, like Wooster, skipped any song that I didn't recognise after 2 beats; except from the one from the trailer. Those remixes do sound a lot different from their HD counterparts, don't they?

Heheh, some of them might be stretching it a little. They're all beautiful, though, and the new Rainy Night (if it is based off Rainy Night) blew me away.

Can someone with a better ear than me say if the first 16 songs are reinstrumentalized or just the same?

Mmh I think Dream's end Has been redone...
I remember when I listened to it on the jukebox with my Headphones, it was going so much Higher with some musical notes ? ( don't know if it's the english word sorry ^^), it was doing some strange annoying echos... Same thing with the soundtrack... X_x
And now, no weird sounds, It's all smooth...

I think every songs from Hotel Dusk as been redone like this, to get a better quality, more smoother... No changes in the song itself... Maybe some new littles instruments in the "background" in some songs...

I think... I should listening to it again, If I heard something new Ill tell you then.

It's especially noticeable on On the Rocks. But yeah, you're right, I think they definitely have new instrumentation.

Yeah, I am probably stretching a bit, but there's definitely some new instrumentation, namely on the redo of Serenity and Over Easy. Rainy Night seems to have a more "fuller" sounding ensemble, with a more "clean" sounding Xylophone playing the main melody. Hangover Blues has panned the instruments a bit, with the 60's style guitar in the right, and the rhythm guitar in the left. The guitar in the right channel is a lot more prominent than the Hotel Dusk version, that I can tell. The Harmonica melody also has a nice little echo on it...and a bit of a dual harmony, which is barely noticeable...

I have too much spare time to pick intricate changes in video game music and post my findings on the internet.

If you like, I can translate them if you post them. Maybe even make a back cover in regards to Colonel Olrik's front cover? :D

Baron, if you can translate the other track names, I'd gladly shove them onto an accompanying back cover...

of course, if the translated names are a bit spoilery, I'll abstain.

-Track 42 is Past Memories
-Track 21 is Misty Time
