I don't see any reason for him to do that....Plus that would just totally steal from my fic where Phoenix is a prosecutor....

However, I think it would be awesome if Lana Skye finally makes her debut as a prosecutor this time around, with Ema as her detective/sidekick.

I'd absolutely love to see one fanservice case, with Phoenix as DA, Maya as assistant and Franziska as prosecutor.
It'd be totally hilarious. "Damn you, Mr. Phoenix Wright, I wanted to battle you once again so much, and you got your badge taken away. Now you won't escape me, and I'll crush you!"
And at the end, when she loses,
"Mr. Phoenix Wright! I have one more evidence for you!"

Can't speak for twins, as I don't have one, but I've caught myself finishing my girlfriend's thoughts more than once, and vice versa. It's possible, if two people's thought processes are similar enough.
Anyway, I like the idea of twins as prosecutors, in theory. In practice, I think that Klavier will be back, and should be. However, I'd like to see his character develop.

It's not that Godot wasn't cocky enough to be a challenge, it's that he was such an awesome character you almost wanted him to win.
Also, I wanna see a new Payne, an awesome Payne, an evil Payne. Maybe his evil twin sister/brother/Devilchild? Because Payne finally ownign the main character as he should would be awesome.

Forgive my ignorance, and for going slightly off-topic here, but when did you go up against Edgeworth as a prosecutor in GS3? You play as him as defense and all, but I can't remember him prosecuting.
ANYWAY on-topic, I'd love to see Klavier return. Unlike in GS1, where Edgeworth was... well, fucked up, at the end, it wasn't really FORESEEABLE that he wouldn't return, but understandable. Likewise, Fransziska left at the end of GS2, so no surprises that she wouldn't be the main prosecutor for GS3. AJ didn't really have an event like that... except I suppose Klavier's brother being, you know, a complete whackjob murderer and all. That could actually be quite the stimuli for him quitting as a prosecutor.
Hmm.
If they get rid of him as a prosecutor (and here's hoping they don't, I loved Klavier's character), here's hoping he remains around in some form. I mean, he can't REALLY, because you already have Trucy filling Maya's spot, Ema filling Gumshoe's... maybe Klavier could take on a role like Edgeworth did in GS2 and GS3. That'd be groovy. Or maybe he could take on a role like Lotta across GS2.

Godot did not hate people, per se. After his accident (lolol Dahlia and her poison / Trials&Tribulations), he simply had a very bitter outlook towards life. He'd lost the one he loved the most, and worst of all, he'd lost himself. Mia completed him.
Before, Diego was actually pretty positive and courageous. But like I said, the "accident" took a lot out of him.
And for the record, Edgeworth was the prosecutor when Iris took the stand, believed to have murdered Elise Deauxnim / Elise Tenryuusai (Misty Fey). The case was Trials&Tribulations: case 5.
Iris is Chinami's (Dahlia's) sister. If you aren't familiar with this, check out http://www.court-records.net/chara3-4.htm#chinami. I'm not too fond of her myself...

No, I'm not making the first case joke, I mean, for most of the game, you go up against Payne, and he is HARD. I mean like up to the level where you're on the verge of losing, like, even more then usual. And in the very last case you find out that his stategies have been handed to him for the whole game by some other new prosecutor, who predicted even your arguments and gave Payne counter-arugments in advance. Now I think this character should be established in earlier cases, and maybe the fact that Payne is getting his arguments from someone should be at least hinted at, so this doesn't come out of nowhere, but I think it would be fun!
Or, of course, the person giving Payne arguments could also be Phoenix, because he's a jerk now, and would mess with Appollo like that. Be "Testing him" or some nonsence.

Anyways, I'd like to see Klavier do a reverse-Edgeworth and come back in full force in the last case as a win-at-all-costs prosecutor, in the vain of how Manfred prosecuted in 1-4, perhaps even worse. Into the forging evidence category perhaps. I mean, his best friend and brother being murderers had to have unhinged him a bit.
And I'm hoping Lana for prosecutor, or perhaps a rookie prosecutor who is just a new, but skilled prosecutor for once

It is in the game's fashion to introduce a new prosecutor, so I say look forward to it.
Consider what happened to Klavier--he lost his best friend and his brother; I predict him pulling an Edgeworth and giving prosecution a break to find himself.
In light of this, quite possibly I think Gyakuten Saiban will do one of two things:
-They will introduce an old prosecutor; most likely Franziska, because Apollo has yet to encounter a truly intense prosecutor.
-They will create an intense prosecutor for him.
And someone on the first page suggested a twin team--which Jaws totally approves, that would kicketh the epic ass. However, based on the similarities between Kristoph and Klavier, physically at least, perhaps Capcom would find that redundant. Still, it would be neat.
Just like the last game, there's a good hunch this prosecutor will be female. And if they follow the model of GS1 to 2, then possibly this prosecutor will have connections with Klavier in some way.
But that too raises a theory; I have a theory we might see a new band mate, but its just a theory.
Rest assured though, I see neat things for the prosecution of GS5.

No Payne was just in his prime during T&T, but after losing his hair, his title "The Rookie Killer", and the case against Mia he lost his will to prosecute. He just kept on doing it to put food on the table.
I think it would be cool if the new prosecutor was a rabid fan of Phoenix during his lawyer days and had his life-long dream to become a great defense attorney like him but grew bitter and angry after hearing about him losing his badge (maybe to the point that he believes all defense attorneys were frauds and liars) and because he felt so betrayed he became a prosecutor instead. That way he could get revenge against the fraudulent defense attorneys by getting guilty verdicts for all their clients, of course never by forging evidence because that would make him as bad as Phoenix.
