Since he's been in every game so why not Dai Gyakuten? I'm thinking he would either be in the beginning in a prologue or in the last episode. Maybe he could appear in a framing device like how the Titanic movie was made.

Okay, if they somehow add in a brief scene somewhere, maybe as an intro before the actual game or an ending "100 years later", MAYBE they could fit him in there. It'd be a silly reason and completely unnecessary, but at least it'd make some sense in context.

This probably won't happen, but maybe the story spans a long period of time, so the major part of the game is set in the past, but the final case, the conclusion, is set in the future, with Phoenix as the lawyer. Kinda far-fetched, but still, I think it'd be cool. :ron:

It'll be ok. The murder moved to Japanifornia (a foreign country) and lived there for the past 86 years, so the time period is tolled

It would be amusing to see a case with a bunch of skeleton witnesses, though. Gumshoe could hang out in the rafters with some puppet strings and make them talk or dance and such

I meant more that the final case in the future was related to the original cases from the past. So the cases in the past would finish, maybe with the last being resolved even, but having loose ends. Then, the last case with Phoenix wraps up the other cases, showing a conclusion in the modern day. It doesn't matter about the statute of limitations, because the old case was solved, it just had relations to the future case.

I wonder why you'd want to have Phoenix appear in the game at all. Here they want to make a game that seperate from the main GS/GK series (I hope they don't make the GS4 mistake of doing only a half-hearted attempt), so why have Phoenix in DGS?

Considering they want to make this a 'standalone' GS series, I would find it quite confusing as a player if the game would be bookended by a person who doesn't have anything to do with DGS's story, or for a someone in the far away future to suddenly take over the role of protagonist from Ryuunosuke in a most decidedly non-Meiji/Victorian setting in the climax of the game.

Personally, I wouldn't want Nick in the game, and I do doubt whether they will include him at all. I think it will be mostly through references. However, I think having Nick resolving an age old case would be an exciting idea.

It is possible that they might have Phoenix appear at the very end of the game with Maya in court or something, showing the "family legacy" is still going on. That said I wouldn't be disappointed if he didn't appear because he isn't needed. Frankly, the fact they made the titular protagonist of this game Phoenix's ancestor is a nod to Phoenix in itself.
