Rise from your grave, Cardy!

...Huh? What year is it?

Anyway yeah, hi I'm back! After two months of hard graft, I've finally graduated from university. And since I now have nothing but time, I'm hoping I can get back into the swing of continuing Master of Puppets! Though I admit I haven't really been enthusiastic about the thought of returning to it... I dunno, kinda stuck on an iffy section of the game that I seem to be having difficulty writing dialogue for. But if I managed to sort out Haunted Turnabout in the same way, I'll do it again.

But yeah, I'm technically back in action. :)

Oh, Maya's still not coming back ;) Ropfa brought it on himself.

And as for where I was having trouble with Haunted's writing, it was mainly the final trial. I didn't know how to order the events, but this time with TotS it's the dialogue that's the trouble in Trial 2.

Aaaaah, mid-trial trouble is the WORST, because that affects later parts!

Yay, it'll be exciting to see the end of the case whenever it comes. Man, between this, CoI, a couple of AAO games, and the AAI2 fan-patch, there's a lot to look forward to regarding AA. I should actually give a TRPG update sometime.
Congratulations on the graduation! Good luck with job hunting, hopefully it turns out well.

Hello! Been a while since I looked at this topic. Great to see you back, Cardiovore. Whenever I do my re-playthroughs of the full series (in chronological order) I always play your two cases along with the rest. They're so spot on with the main series story and humor! :will: I'm saving on playing this case until its completed so I can play through it all at once. I just finished playing the last two cases of the AAI2 beta (so much FUN!), so I had a small, spoilery question involving that game and your own:

Spoiler:
Any possibility of a Blaise Debeste mention in this last case of yours? I only bring it up because I'm like 99% certain he's a member of the smuggling ring. Three reasons I think so: Franziska gets herself involved in case 4 still a part of Interpol, Blaise sells collected police evidence on the black market, and he has the real (red eyes) Alif Red statue in his possession. Seeing as Portsman was a member of the ring, the two of them probably worked together. But that's just a theory, a GAME THEORY. (sorry, couldn't resist :hotti: )

Hi, and thanks very much! Aha then you'd be waiting until possibly the end of the year (if I'm lucky) for the completed thing.
Spoiler:
Since I haven't played the AAI2 fan patch, I have no idea who that is xD But I'm gonna take a guess and say that he's the bearded guy with the lighter? (I've seen all the AAI2 sprites.)
But to answer your question, no, Case 3 doesn't involve anybody from AAI2. (Except maybe one person, if HE counts...)

I feel like an idiot that i didnt look it up but..
Spoiler:
Hemlock means meny things such as a extremely toxic plant used as an method of execution and a relegious group called the "Hemlock Society" that made the biggest mass suicide yet by drinking kool aid that was poisoned by cyanide. And it is the name of several cities in Usa and one in Canada. It was also a style of Execution that was related somehow to Socrates (different then the one mentioned above). The word seems to have a dark history, but I only thaught of it as a name until now

Wow, so it does. Although I think that's a little TOO much reading into it...
Hemlock can be a surname, but I chose it because of the poisonous plant,
Spoiler: "AAI spoilers"
which references the floral theme of Quercus Alba's name, as does Aculeus.

Anyway, new box art. Redrew the characters in my trademark "pseudo-anime" style. (Referring to the fact that I still can't draw anime properly.)

Blizdi, the artwork is the thing that improves the game and gives it it's feel of an actual and real Capcom licenced game, they make the finishing, the looks and the style to the game.
I see the art made by Cardy on the boxart much rather that way then some crappy stick figures (that they were not before and will never be or have been) (and where do you live? Its 03:00am here and about the same in England, are you an American?) (ps. Dont argue with me, just submit to the fact that you're comment seems guite harsh to Cardy after the trouble he's gone through to make a series like this to you, and you're half joking? That comment fails as a joke, it sounds like it looks, a Criticism more then a joke, and a bad one at that.) stop making them, for all of our sake.

Guys, I'm pretty sure that Cardy wouldn't like people arguing in his thread. Can't you just sort it out through PM? We don't need drama here.

Back on topic. The box-art looks great, except Phoenix looks awfully out of place on it.

I love it! :sparkly-maggey:
I especially like how Brisbane is glaring angrily at everybody, it works really well.
Though I do have to agree with Darth here. Phoenix does look a little out of place among your pseudo-anime art.
But that's my only real complaint! I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your game.

Yeah my style isn't really meant for attempts at anime. And yeah, I tried copying Phoenix's style but it ironically made HIM stand out. But thank you all the same!

The difference seems to me as the thickness of the lines, the ones on you're works are thinner, more detailed.

Playing through this now, it's really good. Only criticism is that, in case 1 at the very least (I'm still on Case 1), exclamation marks are extremely overused. Like every other sentence seems to end with them... just makes the dialogue feel a bit forced and not genuine.

Story's great though as is the quality of presentation (it is very polished), and the music is great as well. Really enjoying it.

Oh thank you :) It's nice to hear that my game's still attracting new people.
Well, Scapegoat was my first case from years ago, so yeah it is pretty unpolished I agree; I'm highly critical of it myself. But there's a user who's making a great job of polishing up my first two and a half cases, and I'll be adding to them myself and be releasing them either with my final case or afterwards.

Well you definitely don't need to be too critical, it's still a very, very, good case.

It is cool to hear another user is polishing it up a little bit though, I'll be sure to replay it when it's all complete and out there just to get the "definitive experience" if you will. It's definitely a case I'd enjoy replaying again and if the next two cases are even better, then I can't wait to play them (probably will start case 2 in a little while, I think I'm near the end of case 1).

Case 2 is really good... Case 3 is... of course, half done, so if I were you, I wouldn't start Case 3 until it was released, just to get the full experience, so far I think Case 3 is the best of the 3, because the premise is very interesting... But I digress, find this out for yourself :P

It's 3

Two seperate cases in Case 1 (1 and a flashback)
One lone case in case 2
Two seperate cases in Case 3 (1 after the other)

Ah okay, so essentially 5 cases in the format of 3 episodes. Gotcha.

Come to think of it... I would've probably had these as five separate cases if I knew from the start that I'd be doing a series.

Hey... just a random question... is that JoshJepson or Markiplier in your avatar?

Yep it's Markiplier.

I wanted to randomly make a theory about Case 3... *yes I know it's rather weird to make one at this point in time*

Spoiler: Case 3 SPOILERS
I believe that Vex Vulper committed ONE murder... I believe he murdered Perry Docks, but not Cedric Maplethorpe... I think that when Cedric was murdered (He was murdered by someone high up in the police force, being manipulated by Hemlock) Vex woke up and saw him, and was threatened into killing Perry and taking the blame for both cases

So how far off am I? (Don't answer that of course lol)

Damn, just finished The Haunted Turnabout.

"Impressed" isn't strong enough to convey how I feel about this fangame. It and Conflict of Interest (and maybe Trials after Justice, I haven't actually started that yet but I'm sure it is judging by other people's opinions) are the kind of fanfiction which rivals the quality of the actual Ace Attorney games, and it gives me so much hope. It's nice to know that if (touch wood) official Ace Attorney games stop being created, or are never localised and are untranslateable (3DS games are pretty much unmodifiable atm) that the series will be safe in the hands of the fans who come up with quality like this.

So bravo Court-Records, fantastic work being done all around.
