I'm a bit worried as to how you seem to have very little of case one and case two plotted out (maybe you do, but such was the impression I got from the case info section), but quite a deal of the later cases. Just keep in mind that, if your first two cases fail to be interesting and intrigue players, then no matter how amazingly awesome the rest are, you'll be hard pressed to get people to actually play up to that point. Food for thought, anyway.

Things to consider when writing characters.
Flaws and quirks: We're all human. YOU NEED character flaws for them to be relatable. However don't go overboard...otherwise the character might end up annoying.
Age: Allot of the problems people have with Athena is her age. I personally don't mind, I agree we shouldn't have 18 year old Attorney's running around every two seconds. So keep in mind the persons job and what role your character will play.
Mystic power: Some people go overboard with abilities. And while it wouldn't be so "out there" for a character you create to be able to talk to the dead or something, be careful just how much power you give a character lest they be the main focus.
Existing characters need love too: Give characters who exist already in the series the proper love and respect by writing them accurately and well. Make sure the characters you include have a purpose or they'll be viewed as fan service. And make sure characters who haven't been used much are used. (Unless in jail or dead.)
Side note: If your making a case make it fresh and new, not a rehashing of old cases.

Only for Case 4, in which Apollo was the defendant (Sorry, I had no choice). As for why he was accused, that will have to wait until the release of the game. I will now add progress indicators for each case, so you can know how much is finished.

I'm gonna give you my honest opinion as an artist.
The second one is good and looks like his sprite from DD. but the first sprite is a little...emotionless...not to mention it's kinda dull looking... :( Especially for a character named fang...The colors he wears are all wrong. (Orange and green do NOT go together at all, and if you do put them together you make sure it's a Halloween-like character with a pumpkin motif. -__-) The name "Fang" is majorly used among OCs and could be considered a strange choice of name since your character doesn't look like a "Fang." To be honest seeing this design would take me out of the game.
Creating a character is much more than just drawing it and giving it a name. There are about a million things you need to consider.
Likes
Dislikes
Personality
What drink do they prefer
What's their hobby
What do they approach seriously
What do they approach with less seriousness
What makes them happy
What makes them sad
What makes them angry
What are they afraid of
How would they react to a stressful situation
And how do all these things reflect in their physical appearance
What they wear is supposed to give you a clue as to who they are. And in the AA series their name does this as well. So when a character dressed like that with no emotions to his face is named fang...I just feel as if this character is a mess. But I'm judging this simply on design alone. You WILL get others like me who WILL take a critical look at this. If you would like I could help you with the designs.

I'm gonna give you my honest opinion as an artist.
The second one is good and looks like his sprite from DD. but the first sprite is a little...emotionless...not to mention it's kinda dull looking... :( Especially for a character named fang...The colors he wears are all wrong. (Orange and green do NOT go together at all, and if you do put them together you make sure it's a Halloween-like character with a pumpkin motif. -__-) The name "Fang" is majorly used among OCs and could be considered a strange choice of name since your character doesn't look like a "Fang." To be honest seeing this design would take me out of the game.
Creating a character is much more than just drawing it and giving it a name. There are about a million things you need to consider.

Personality
What drink do they prefer
What's their hobby
What do they approach seriously
What do they approach with less seriousness
What makes them happy
What makes them sad
What makes them angry
What are they afraid of
How would they react to a stressful situation
And how do all these things reflect in their physical appearance
What they wear is supposed to give you a clue as to who they are. And in the AA series their name does this as well. So when a character dressed like that with no emotions to his face is named fang...I just feel as if this character is a mess. But I'm judging this simply on design alone. You WILL get others like me who WILL take a critical look at this. If you would like I could help you with the designs.
Actually, reading this post made me think about Fang's personality.
Likes: Technology, chess
Dislikes: People being Machiavellian
Personality: Rarely gets angry, very calm.
What drink do they prefer: Sports drinks, almost like Gatorade.
What's their hobby: Gaming, making games, chess
What do they approach seriously: Studies, crime scenes
What do they approach with less seriousness: Nothing.
What makes them happy: Insert trait here.
What makes them sad: Case 5 spoilers, wait until the release.
What makes them angry: Anyone being unfaithful, especially to a girl. And computer viruses.
What are they afraid of: Snakes
How would they react to a stressful situation: He tries to calm himself down.
Apparently, that's what I was planning.

No, no, no. I meant like a nickname. I've decided what name I've given him: Daniel. It's based on his original given name. (Dong-Li; Daniel) But only his family and close friends used it. Everyone else (including Athena) used Fang.

Quick note on the screenshots: the Apollo fourth wall break is a bit over-the-top, I'd recommend making it less blatant.

I'm not even sure if the comment is correct. Nobody's attempted it in Pywright yet, because DD came out after everything on the program thus far was made. But it's a fairly simple gameplay mechanic. I'd be surprised if it was impossible to do (just a lot of extra artwork).
