Sounds like a very interesting game.

May I make a few suggestions?

- The main reason that your page has little views/replies is because you want to have more details on the first post. Fully decide on a casemaker you will use; people will just get confused if you switch often. Both PWLib and PyWright have their pros and cons, but I use PWLib. Also, it's called Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney. How will it be played? Will you be the prosecutor? Will you be a defense attorney? And finally release all your cases at once, with all the info necessary. People usually don't like to check back on something if it's not shown all at once. And try to have a trailer or many screenshots to visually attract people into your project.

Hopefully this helps, and good luck with your game. I look forward to seeing more of it!

I agree with this, the first post doesn't show too much.

Shadow, you could write down what makes this game so particular (gameplay, of course).

But Paper, I disagree with the "People usually don't like to check back on something if it's not shown all at once" part. Players know it'd take too long to have all cases in one, so most of us prefer getting them episodically, if that is what the game's creator is more comfortable with.
At least, that's how I feel regarding that.

Ah, I should have been more specific:

What I meant was that if there's not enough information on the game at the first glance, people think it's a smaller project and don't keep tabs on it, unless something groundbreaking happens to it. Or that may just be me. But I find it has more impact on the public is everything is detailed at the start, which is why there's many projects that have potential that sit at the bottom of this forum. It's a shame, it would be nice to see all these games released and playable.

Thanks alot, Paper! I think we'll probably release the PWlib and LuAA versions as a whole, and do the AAO version in an episodic format. Btw, how do I make a trailer like yours for ROTP? What program did you use?

Ok, thanks.

On an unrelated note/Major Update, which I forgot to mention here, I'm changing the main Attorney in the game to Kristoph Gavin, since the guy who makes the Draco Regh sprites hasn't logged in for about a month and seven days and left me with an incomplete set of sprites.

Luckily, I'm still in contact with Lind_L_Tailor, whos letting me use his (pretty damn good) set of Krissy sprites. Also, it still could be canon, since Kristoph would be about 20 in it.

Hasn't Mr. PBJ logged in for that long? Oh well, that's unfortunate but SE, we should have a discussion tomorrow on CR about using Kristoph as we are trying to aim for less contradictions between our two games.

Ptapcc

P.S: Not every fan game can be as exciting as ROTP. Papermario13689, I could criticise you because your front page is more help than detail but I understand your point. We can also discuss this tomorrow on CR Personal Messages tomorrow ShadowEdgeworth.

EDIT: I'm back from my camp tonight so I'll continue work on ME: AA if you can send me the link SE?

Ah, I wasn't saying that it should be like ROTP, but a more colorful and visual page brings in the viewers. Just thought I'd point that out;D

Just make the first post more visual, and more people are sure to be interested! Good luck!

May as well post this here.
Some custom music may be added into the game, themes and such. Also I'm currently making an official ME:AA site. Expect to see it some time in January.

ME:AA is recuiting PWlib beta-testers.

The PWlib version of ME:AA is being released as a full game, apart from Case 1. Beta Testers will get exclusive access to the game in episodic content. So why not apply?

To become one, either A) post here asking to be one, or B) Send me a PM. There are only 14 spaces in total, but it isn't a first-come-first serve basis.

The current list of beta-testers is as follows:

Supersonic808
Defencelawyer
KSA_Tech
DeMatador
Ceres
Meph
Sketchinmaster

Get applying!

Supersonic808- Automatic position due to Sprites
Defencelawyer- As Above
KSA_Tech- Providing PWlib
DeMatador- Animating characters for PWlib
Ceres- Providing Grossberg Defense Sprites
Meph- Fixing Grossberg sprites and animating them as well (..I think)
Sketchinmaster- Front Payne sprites.

Get applying!

*grumbles at how suspiciously similar the beta testing post is to his own*. Yes, the PWlib version of Case 1 is expected to be released to ShadowEdgeworth on the 29th so hopefully, all beta testers will receive the case in the next two days (after the 29/12) or on New Years Day.

Since Shadow hasn't posted why each of these have been posted before- I've changed it a bit.

Wow, I didn't know coding Payne and Grossberg had gotten me a beta-testing position! Thanks!

Also, when you need other characters coded for the following cases, I'll gladly do it. As usual, shoot me a PM when you need to.

No prob! I forgot to mention, that if anyone contributes to the ME:AA project in a reasonable way, (e.g. Sprites, coding) Then they'll be given the beta-testing position as a sort of thank you.

About the coding, I'll let you know, since Case 2 Investigation is about halfway on AAO. :karma:

I've finally gotten around to playing through all of Case 1 on AAO and enjoyed it! The whole "object at an appropriate time" thing took a while to make sense to me, but once I figured it out, it was fun. I'd like to be a beta tester for the PWLib version :)

Yes. Allow me to clarify.

The PWlib version of ME: AA will be released as a full game excluding Case 1 which is to show everyone how the engine has simulated the game practically perfectly. Beta-testers will receive a group PM that will include a link to downloading the case. It is the same format for all the other cases as well as beta-testers get cases episodically, not as a full game.

As the head programmer and person who is creating the PWlib version of ME: AA, I'll answer them (just as I did on AAO.) I've taken into suggestion Scent's idea.

1.How big is the file?
It will be roughly 70-100mb for case 1.

What does beta-testing the PWlib version mean?
It means that you'll along with a group of people will get Case 1, nice and zipped via PM. You then have to play it and preferably, take notes if you see any errors or if anything needs to be improved, etc.

How will I be able to play it?
The case includes PWlib 1.1 Hayase, already configured for you to play. All you have to do is install the PWinternational font if you haven't done so already and then run AIGE.exe

What's the difference between the PWlib and AAO versions?
The PWlib version is cleaner, smoother and simulates an Ace Attorney game much more than AAO. As Shadow has announced that a limited version of logic will be used in Cases 2-5 on AAO, the true GK styled logic will be available in the PWlib version, due to the Mikumo Extension.

If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Woah, I just noticed! I'm a beta tester for both ME:AA and PWLib 1.2!

If the beta is released by when you release the beta for ME:AA, I'll be sure to test it and tell you how it plays along. KSA also gave me permission to post screenshots, so that too :)

Thanks a lot, DeMatador! Good to hear about the screenshots, too. Can't wait to see PWlib 1.2 in action.

Ok, thanks Krazytimes! :edgy: You're on... THE LIST.

*ahem* That leaves only ONE beta-testing position avaliable. First person to comment/PM me gets the position.

Thanks for answering the questions, Tap, I'll add those to the first post, as soon I get to a non-DSi computer. If anyone has any questions about PWlib in relation to requirements, contact Ptapcc, my main PWlib progammer while I'm getting to grips with it. If you have any other questions about PWlib, contact KSA_Tech or DeMatador, while if you have a question about ME:AA itself, contact me.

Oh good news to everyone. We'll be releasing this case, by the end of this week. No delays- it's going to happen. I have purposely made my schedule free for programming so beta's, warm up your...brains, I suppose...and general fans, get ready for a release most likely in two weeks :will:
