I'm considering releasing the first few chapters of the case, once Pywright .989 is released. However, due to the structure of the case, that might be easier said than done.

I wouldn't recommend using the Pywright database to download any games, since it tends to not be up to date. For a long time, it only offered the first investigation and trial of The Rogue Turnabout, despite me having completed two whole cases. It did get updated at least once one or two years ago, but I have no idea if it has been since then. Just use the download link posted in this thread for the case.
That being said, I too have had problems since the Mac version apparently isn't available for download from the site anymore. .989 is being worked on by some people on here and their goal is to make is as readily available to as wide an audience as possible, so hopefully the Mac version will be supported again soon. Until then, you can just use version .988 and that will work fine with COI.
Edit: Oh, also I should probably mention that the most recent beta has been sent out to the testers. This will probably be the final midpoint beta before the whole case is plotted out. The last few chapters are gonna be an absolute beast to get through.

I was considering maybe putting this person in the character contest, but apparently it's DGS era only, so that's a no go. Doubt I'll have time to enter this year, since I'm busy trying to get the final case of COI out in a timely manner.
This is one character that I'm personally really hyped for. Doesn't usurp Gladys Porter as my personal favorite, but I'm very excited about seeing them in action.
Just for the record, I highly doubt I'll be making my goal of the end of the year. I would imagine the full case will be ready early 2016. There are still a few roadblocks in planning the finale of the case. I recently managed to figure out how to pass one of them, but there are a few still left.

Take your time man, there's no need to rush. I'm sure the finished product will be amazing and definitely worth the wait! In the meantime, I'll be replaying all of the Ace Attorney games (and Starting AAI 2) while waiting for more info on AA6 and the new anime! :)

In the meantime, I've also managed to clear up several potential plotholes that were bothering me and more or less all of the artwork is expected to be finished soon. ON my end, I have maybe 2 sprites left and one piece of evidence, and am in contact with people working on other pieces. So from here on out, it's primarily just writing the remaining dialogue and testing, testing, testing, testing, testing.
It won't be released in December. And with the sheer amount of testing that will be necessary, I strongly doubt it will be in January. But assuming that everything goes according to my current pace...

Well, he hasn't seen the ending yet, actually, as the final trial has yet to be completed. So far, including myself there are only three people in the world who know the ending to Conflict of Interest, and the other two are no longer beta-ing for me either due to technical reasons or real life obligations.
