Great, I can send you a copy of the script too, if you want to look through it and give any ideas?
Once you're done, I'll tell you about the two characters who need themes and what sort of themes I'm looking for.

Story - 100%
Scripting (in comparison to the whole thing) - 15%
Sprites - 40%
Music - 80%

Cardiovore, what kind of theme for Renwick do you need? Give an example of what should it be and I try to find something. I don't have anything else to do :redd: .

Fair enough, thanks. :)
I'm looking for something quite slow and calm, maybe with a little bit of a beat. This is what I originally had in mind, but it had TOO MUCH of a beat if that makes sense:

Small update: I think I'll decide to exclude Maya from Case 3 completely.
I tried my hardest to include her in the case, but so far her only roles have been: 1) to crack a joke at Nick's expense; and 2) to point out the obvious. I've never been good at writing for Maya in my opinion and I was going to get rid of her halfway through anyway, so I thought it best to just keep her in Kurain Village. :\

I actually thought you wrote her pretty well in Scapegoat. Sure, she didn't have a huge role, but she was perfectly in-character.

Still, the more comfortable you are with the cast the better the case's going to be.

Hmm that could happen. For now I'm just coasting along with Phoenix only. If I do enough so that I know for sure that Maya doesn't need to be in the case, I'll do it. :)

Thanks very much for both of the suggestions (including the one you PMd me), but I'm afraid I already chose one a few days ago. I chose this for Renwick in the end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtcNQn6PEKI
But thanks for helping with the theme for "He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named" though. Through your suggestions, I found the perfect theme for him. I'll be sure to mention you in the credits. :)

You could always fall back on what they did in the main series: have her suspected/kidnapped/disappeared/possibly dead to give Phoenix some more motivation. Always helps with drama, without leaving her out of the action.

Hmm I'm not sure if I want to "dispose of her" so to speak, but this is what I'm sticking with so far: During her visit to Kurain Village she's being held back for important master duties or more training programs, since she inherited the title of Master of the Kurain Chanelling Technique.

Well... Personally, Cardy, it's something like that I would find... kind of fitting, considering that this is supposed to create a bridge between T&T and Phoenix's last case. The problem is, considering the nature of the actual case, it would... be out of place. :/ Maybe there's another way to get Maya out of the picture and provide some sort of satisfying explanation for the end of her appearance in the AA series? (Of course, again - considering the nature of the story, it's REALLY not necessary, just a suggestion).
That one guy from AAO that made about a dozen cases that all kinda go off the deep end and fall apart at one point or another.

Yeah I thought that by having Maya in the case and then have her leave halfway through (as per the original plan), there could be an actual goodbye scene to add a sense of closure. But despite my best efforts she had almost no role whatsoever in the case. But it WOULD seem kind of pointless to bring her back just to get rid of her again, so... hmm, I don't know. :gregory:

EDIT: The screenshots for Case 3 have been added to the main post.

EDIT 2: Since the cat's pretty much out of the bag on who the silhouette is on the "teaser" case art, I've added the real updated version. (Might change slightly if I have more graphics made further into the case, but for now it's how you see it.)

Just another quick update...
By now I think you're probably familiar with most of the characters who will appear in Turnabout of the Snow. Just this morning, I made this sprite of another character who may play a big role in Case 3:
Spoiler:
Image
Name: Schaden Freude
Age: 67
Occupation: Chief of police (the very chief Snow kept mentioning in The Haunted Turnabout)
Personality: Has unpredictable mood swings; one minute he could be deadly serious, only for him to burst out laughing and claim he was just joking... or sometimes not. A lot like his predecessor Gant in some respects.
Name origin: "schadenfreude" means malicious pleasure derived from others' misfortunes.

I based Freude on this sketch of a generic character I made:

It may just be because German is my first language, but making the guy's name a well-known word just seems really weird to me, especially because Schaden isn't a name.

Ah I know what you mean. I knew it wasn't a real name, it's just a German word/term (it's apparently also a borrowed word in the English language) that I split into a first and last name. Since I don't know much German I don't know how strange it is seeing it as a name, it was just meant to be reflective of the character.
