I've found the problem. The files ARE there, but at some point in the past I renamed them in the scripts. Vinnie's voice clips are in the sfx/edgeworth folder, strange as it sounds.
Sorry the older cases aren't touched up yet, my focus for now was on the final release of Case 4.

Here's a link for Vinnie's wav format voice clips. Add them to the main sfx folder and you should be good to go.

Alright, master Cardiovore!

Spoiler: Contempt of Court full review
The game as a whole impresses me on how it really just wants to be whatever it is without being too bound to the standard AA story structure. It's also the funniest of the major Pywright games and I really do respect that this game mostly tries to write it's own characters and not use canon ones all too often. Though as much as the loose structure helps it tell a story in it's own special way, that does open it up to some downsides.
But first here are the good stuff from each case:

Turnabout Scapegoat is a great way to introduce the game and it's standards, I do like how it's not afraid to give focus to any character no matter how minor they are (Vincenzo) and it manages to stay fresh as a whole with it's humor and charm. Some characters are annoying at first (Vex, Krump, Snow) but later cases do make them much more interesting and even add twists to their style of humor.

Haunted Turnabout has a pretty revolutionary way of looking into mysteries, as it uses backstory and atmosphere to mask what should be a relatively simple mystery. The characters introduced don't have as strong of dynamic as the previous case, but that works in it's favor with the kind of environment the case uses and that the characters are pretty decent and show some pretty interesting design choices, such as Mapplethorpe looking like an undead.

Turnabout in the Snow, well okay, case aside, one thing that does make it worth it is the way the aforementioned annoying characters were fleshed out here. Snow seems more mature and competent which does feel like Phoenix's chemistry with him grows and Vex drops the lame "perfectionist" stunt and actually became a hilarious maniacal inmate with fabricated schizophrenia, adding Krump's performance as part of his dark humor.

Ensnared Turnabout kicks off really well, having Brisbane as the victim, a close help from the police, and introduces Weever, the funniest witness yet. Edgeworth's role here is pretty strong, mutually and contributively, where he's just cocky enough without being too tasteless, all the while manages to be an admirable enough companion. The twist of playing as him in trial day 3 is awesome, seeing as he's doing Phoenix's job for AND against him. Chief Freude was fleshed out really well when he took the stand and him messing with the courtroom temperature is pretty funny. Of course I can't ignore that his fiery breakdown sprites are, for the lack of a better term, top kek. The buildup to Hemlock was super thrilling, there's a legitimate sense of fear that accumulates the more people you draw secrets from and by the time it reaches Renwick, shit gets real with looking for secret evidence without getting caught and when you see the man expose himself right before the day is over, it pretty much reaches the pinnacle of insanity. Maya is such a slick fiend, thinking that she can get away with being the mastermind, when we know Hemlock is dead and that she's been channeling him the whole time. In the end, seeing the character closures for Griesen, Brisbane and Renwick as a whole are finely satisfying.

So with all the good stuff out, here are the not-so-good ones:

As ambitious as it is to try different ways of telling stories in AA, it can sometimes get a little too loose. So much so that every case in the game (except for Ensnared) feels like it's controlled too offhandedly. Every case pretty much has you withholding private info with the police, and not inform the prosecution of anything, putting them at a drastic disadvantage. Case in point, Krump's death, the secret hotel room and the framing against Vulper. Now I get this is because the cases are rigged for finale reasons, but this strongly weakens the major characters driving the story, specifically Brisbane.

Brisbane was supposed to be a fierce and violent prosecutor, and that's a neat concept, except his fierceness was horribly weighted by how much the cases were rigged against him, and considering how he didn't care enough to look into them through and through and just wanted to set himself up for victory, it makes him really incompetent, unchallenging and just flat out shallow. The fact that the cases were rigged honestly shouldn't stop him, he could do something to push the boundaries of the average prosecutor's persistence, which will not only make him admirably antagonistic, but it will also justify Hemlock beating the crap out of him since he'd be extra irritated by how Brisbane manages to find ways to play the cases past his rigging.

Another problematic major character is Renwick. There's nothing wrong with his strange behavior of fazing into the blank, what IS problematic is his passive-aggressiveness. He's really hard to like with how he constantly gives pessimistic remarks and shows little care about the things he's supposed to investigate. And it doesn't help that he pulls a Fukawa and cynically rejects Phoenix form defending him whom he barely even know. He's kind of the main reason why I don't like Turnabout in the Snow all that much, what with him being the lead detective who takes care of the rigged-ass case and all. At least Snow (fake or not) is likable enough for that to be much of an issue. I know that he redeems himself later, but his initial personality is still pretty bothersome, and I think part of the reason behind that is because of his design. Don't get me wrong, his design is great, but it just doesn't reflect the kind of character he's supposed to be all too well. His design seems like it'd fit him better being a more sophisticated and prim detective rather than a quirky and passive one. These two characters are huge driving points of the game's story but they're honestly not thought out well enough nor was there much mutual interaction with them for me to really care for them much, and I feel like that weakens the drive of the story.

There are some nitpicks like Vulper's "Perfect" and "Devilish" shtick being a weak recycled trait of canon characters, and that there's too many deus-ex machinas, from Vex's abrupt confession in Case 3 to Hemlock's digital bomb not working. The former is redeemed later and thank goodness it did, though the latter could've been looked into better.

That aside, this game as a whole is certainly a delightful experience, It certainly sets an example in terms of how sensibly funny ace attorney fan-cases can get, all the while having it's own unique way of telling the story. The flaws I stated do hinder my thoughts on this game, which is why I find myself liking Conflict of Interest better, but for what it is, it's quite the specimen.

I give Contempt of Court a 7/10 :gant-clap:

Spoiler: A few responses
First off, I appreciate the feedback on my writing. I don't claim to be a writer by any means, this game started out as a means to get some creativity out, plus I'm a fan of custom game creators and "level editors". That's probably more apparent in the first two cases, but I think I generally improved as the game evolved.
Scapegoat was completely ad-libbed as I went along. Haunted was just another separate idea I had later that I wanted to make as a sequel, then halfway through I started to think about making it an over-arcing storyline. I'm honestly surprised it turned out as it did.

Speaking of the kind of characters I made, especially Renwick, I realise that they weren't exactly designed in that "over-the-top" Ace Attorney style. Guess I subconsciously went for more generic-looking designs.

I brought Vulper back for this case by popular request xD Funny how I tried to make him as dislikeable as possible but it had the exact opposite effect.

I had Edgeworth's change in mind while writing him, as AAI and AAI2 had shortly concluded in the timeline.

Yeah, I caught onto how I was writing Brisbane after Case 3. That was why I tried rolling with it, that he was indeed an awful prosecutor who was all bark no bite. He acknowledges this at the end, seeing some of Hemlock in himself, and decides to quit, setting the stage for Klavier Gavin.

Again about the designs, I subconsciously went for more "generic" designs for a lot of the characters. That's something I'm looking to improve on with future endeavors.
As for Smithy himself, I get where you're coming from. I guess I was going for the "aggressively despondent" angle with him in Case 4. Like "it'll just be easier for us all if we let this case just happen".
Quote:
There are some nitpicks like Vulper's "Perfect" and "Devilish" shtick being a weak recycled trait of canon characters, and that there's too many deus-ex machinas, from Vex's abrupt confession in Case 3 to Hemlock's digital bomb not working. The former is redeemed later and thank goodness it did, though the latter could've been looked into better.

I was actually toying with two ideas for the failing bomb part. The other was for him to hold the phone in the air, about to activate it, when a henchman shoots the phone. Hemlock drops it, showing the bullet went through his hand. It would symbolise the defiance of Aculeus and provide more mystery to Grapevine as the data couldn't be recovered from the destroyed phone and oh god I should've gone with this angle shouldn't I.

Thank you kindly! :sahwit:

Master Cardy responded, I am quite happy. Thank you for your acceptance of my review. :gant-jazz:

Spoiler: Stuff said
Either way, I do dislike Vex in Scapegoat, so I guess you got that working somehow.

That aside, I actually don't have much qualms with the character designs, they still look like they do well for AA, though they could admittedly use a bit more features.

I think I can now reveal the puns behind two certain names.
Spoiler: MAJOR Case 4 Part 2 spoilers
And believe it or not, I didn't actually intend for these puns; they're PURE freaky coincidence.

Snow = from the verb "snow" meaning "to fool or deceive".

And Hemlock's first name, Lyle, is one letter away from "lyre", a species of bird (lyrebird to be exact) that can mimic other bird calls, as well as any other noise.

Hello Cardiovore. So I just finished the game and I created an account just to thank you for the amount of work and dedication you put to create it. Honestly the characters are amazing, and the second part you just released is the best fan case I've ever played, hands down. Throughout the whole game I felt like I was playing T&T, that's how good it is. I was almost tearing up at the scenes after the trial and the credits, haha. So again, thank you!

hemlock

Spoiler:
why would you do this to me cardy? why did you have to make snow hemlock? i had this feeling for awhile that it was him but man.
atlest unlike fullbright it's safe to assume there was never a robert snow in the first place? i did like hemlock's objection very much reminds me so much of alba's which makes sense.

i did run into a small glitch during my run.

Spoiler:
when presenting the injury report to show snow's prints the sprites
disappeared. reloading the game fixed it but it was weird.

That bug's happened to me a few times in the past. It seems to have a random chance of happening when clicking the button too fast.
As for Hemlock:
Spoiler:
Halfway through Haunted I had the idea for the over-arcing story and I experimented with loads of different people being Hemlock, but I just kept coming back to Snow as the candidate. As the first character I ever made in the game, I have a soft spot for ol' Robbie myself.

Hello, Cardiovore!

I just finished the game and I had a HUGE urge to congratulate you for not only finishing the project, but doing such a great work with this game. In this day and age in which anyone can start something and leave it unfinished once the initial "magic" is "lost", I'm so happy to see the amount of dedication and care you've put into this.

You see, I've been a fan of Contempt of Court since I discovered in 2012 (I think). Turnabout on the Snow didn't even exist! But I just LOVED your two first cases, so I waited all these years to see your work finished and coming back to this thread to check your progress. And now it's finished... well... what else do I have to say? You did a great work and I applaud you for making a game that can even be compared to the original games' standarts.

:acro: KUDOS TO YOU, SIR :acro:

PS: If I may, I'd like to discuss a pair of things under this spoiler tag because of, you know, HUGE spoilers.

Spoiler:
First off, there's something that's been bugging me during the last trial. I don't know if it's because of Pywright's limitations or what, but each and every time I came to a cross examination (starting with Edegorth's rebuttals) a pop-up a appears about an error, which was kind of off-putting to say the least. It didn't rend my game unplayable, but it was frustrating to click again and again on those tags at every statement.

This picture is from one of the many instances it happened, so I wanted to tell you if you can do something about it, because I'd like to replay this part bug free to enjoy it as it deserves. If this is can be useful to you in any way, my Pywright version is 0.9880 :godot:
http://imgur.com/LLfHgbJ

Also, if I may, I'd like to give a little critique about with Hemlock.
Spoiler:
I never imagined [you know who] to be the bad guy! :beef:

But even though it's a good twist I didn't find it very convincing. For instance, I always thought Vincenzo was behind all of it because of all his past with Mia and Bluecorp, his special treatment in prison, how fond he was to be an spectator of Red White's trial (which I thought foreshadowed Hemlocks obsession with being present everywhere or at least being himself on the spot everytime anything happened), because he dissapears once Scapegoat ends and overall because I think that the best way to hide a twisted and playful personality is to be ever so serious and literal.

And I'm not saying this because I'm disappointed or anything, but Snow's revelation as Hemlock... I found it quite out of the blue (even if it was foreshadowed before with his imitations). Dunno, I felt it kind of forced, like you wanted him to be the bad guy.

Also, about his supervillain persona... I found quite childish to turn him into some kind of Heath Ledger's Joker with his eye bags and his Glasgow smile before showing his true appearance. I think that a more menacing and subtle demeanor would have worked better. Besides from that, now we're at it, I think that the reason why the bomb didn't detonate was quite a Deus ex Machina; I think that it would've worked better if the bomb didn't blow up because Hemlock's frequency inhibitor was still on and he didn't realised that, showing us that even he can make mistakes and, like us, have a faulty logic at times. Don't know, I think Hemlock's a guy who would've spell checked his code a gazillion times before starting anything.

But overall it was a very enjoyable villain and a good final boss at that. I liked Hemlock a lot: he was truly menacing and nothing could escape his invisible and all-powerful grasp

Overall and despite my critiques, I loved this game from begining to end and in fact I'm making a review for everyone to see because I think this game deserves to be enjoyed by more people.

It really was a pleasure.

Thank you for everything.

Hey Cardy, you're my bud and you know I appreciate your game, but I gotta be honest here and say that I was kind of let down by the ending.

Spoiler: MASSIVE endgame spoilers
Okay, so I'm cross-examining Freude and the game prompts me to name the mastermind. But when I present her profile, all that happens is some weird fourth wall jokes and then... the game just shuts off. There's no conclusion or resolution to any of the game's plot threads. I feel like you really rushed this part and can't say that it lived up to the rest of your work.

Spoiler: Resolution to said endgame issue
That's because her profile is fake, you're supposed to find the real profile by travelling to Hazakurain Temple and meet her which will only happen if you trigger the event of investigating the one distinctively different dark blue pixel in Brisbane's house that was stuffed inside his sofa.
