Finished playing this a couple days ago, and I must say I really quite enjoyed it! It was fun and clever, and had its share of funny moments. The characters all felt IC (I haven't seen the anime in years, though), and the ending felt pretty satisfying to me.

So, I was hoping to get this case ported to Ace Attorney Online. It's a short and simple enough case that it should probably not be too much of a hassle. However, I don't have quite as much freetime as I'd like, so I'm going to ask for a bit of help. I've never actually done an AAO case, but I heard somewhere that it uses gifs, rather than the page format that Pywright uses (can somebody confirm this?). If somebody could convert the animated images in ASET to gifs, that would be a huge help to me. Whoever does it would get a mention in the updated credits.

Also, I'm planning to get out an update on Pywright for this case. There were a few bugs people mentioned that I never got around to fixing.

Ropfa out.

So, on a whim I decided to do a Google search for this game today. And it looks like Koopakirby did a Let's Play of it a while ago. Here's the link for anybody who wants to watch it.

Well you certainly caught the feel of the anime for me (in that it being exactly how I remembered my experience years ago - I like
Spoiler: character spoiler
Team Rocket
and find
Spoiler: character spoiler
Ash
annoying :bellboy: ). Anyway best thing about this was definitely

Spoiler: spoiler
Meowth pretending to be Edgeworth. I'll never look at either of them in quite the same way again :redd:

I like Pokemon and I did watch the anime back in the day, but I didn't watch it for long. The games sort of waned on me very quickly to the point where I have trouble even finishing a game anymore out of lack of interest.

The fact that you were able to reignite some of those old feelings with this case should be enough of an endorsement. The sprite quality alone is top notch and I still can't stop laughing when I read:

Spoiler:
*punching noises*
.

I must be tired this year because every time I looked at Rofpa's avatar before this, I never noticed Meowth and made the connection. I kind of just shrugged and went about my business. Then I played this game and now I can't stop laughing. Yet another avatar on this site that kills me.

Congrats, you made a crossover that worked very well. That isn't an honor that I give out at all, not even to official crossover games.
Don't mind me, just passing through.

Thanks for the post. I'm glad people are still discovering this and enjoying it!

With the simple plot, relatively short length, and lack of any updates since the release, I was fairly certain this would get buried and forgotten among the mass of other games, but every now and then someone pops up and mentions it. It was a fun little game to put together and I had a great time with it. My next project after COI won't be another crossover, but I'm definitely up for making another one in the future if the mood strikes me.

Just played this. Meowth is the best custom prosecutor ever, bar none. And I love Blue/Gary's mannerisms and animations.
