Let's see...
Well, first of all,you need to add more information about the case in the first post,at least a summary of the plot of the game.
Also,I think you need to post this AAO,too, since the engine is not that much well-received outside the forums.
About the game itself...
Overall,I think this case looks kinda interesting, and I know it's just a demo,so things may change when the case is actually released, but you need to give us a bot more info. Also, are you going to use stock sprites for the characters,or will you use your original sprites?

I was thoroughly impressed, I think you captured their personalities pretty well, along with the humor, but as cesar said, improvements CAN be made.
EDIT: I see you brought back the "payne + lovers" case running gag... nice!
Thanks for your comments, guys! Constructive criticism is extremely useful, and if others on the forum could comment and add ideas/changes that should be made, it'd be very helpful. I want to make this project as good as possible.
Firstly, in regards to little information being given in the OP, I've added a general summary of the game. Hopefully, this will give you an insight into the "feel" of the game and the "theme" that I am going for. Actual details of cases will change (hence why I'm not putting concrete information on there, since as it may change it can be misleading) but I'm comfortable putting up the summary for now.
Also, whilst it's being made in AAO, I'll probably end up making a PyWright version as well when I get round to it (I know how PyWright works so it won't be an issue remaking it for that). I'm going to make an AAO thread once case 1 is finished, too. Just thought I'd ask C-R's denizens how they felt about the project first :)
Yeah, now you mention it, Apollo introducing himself straight away does seem a little off. I guess I can switch around the statements, so him talking about how it hasn't been too long since his last case which left an impression on him could come before that? Then he could say "Oh, by the way, my name is Apollo Justice." and the rest of the introduction, and then Trucy appears, and so forth...
As for the judge, he just wanted a little bit of fun because he wanted to join in on all the courtroom antics he's had to suffer thanks to Phoenix and Apollo. It's also an admittedly artificial way of establishing that this project is going to be lighthearted, as opposed to being all grim and dark like some fan games have been (which is absolutely fine, and a lot of them are great, they're just not my style).
Ah, yes, the defense being ready thing... I will definitely add that in. For some reason, it completely slipped my mind.
The fact Ema was even mentioned as being away has to be important, if you think about Ace Attorney tradition. They never mention a character by name unless they are relevant to some point of the game. It'd be weird mentioning Ema without her ever appearing. The Ace Detective's Conference is also going to play a large part in the second case, that's all I can say, I don't want to spoil anything...
And the sprites are being left to the last moment. At the moment, while I'm doing the statements and having everyone testify, I'm just going to be using placeholder sprites.
