Um, how is the trial going to work? Like, "Press this button to object" and "Press this button to present evidence that shuns D.A's case" or something?
Hugs for all! ^^

Sadly, there is going to be no 'courtroom action' in GK. Just crime-scene-investigation stuff. :sadshoe:

...why aren't they having any court scenes? That's one of the main things about the Ace Attorney games. I know this is suppose to be different, but really? No court room scenes at all? That's disappointing.

Though I did hear that it would be replaced by interrogation of the accused/whatever, instead.

I think the only old action we're having are the "TAKE THAT!", "OBJECTION" and "HOLD IT!", but most likely I can't see "HOLD IT!" making an appereance. Atleast we can find contradictions in crime scenes... But I wonder... Will this be a race for determination on who will be the prosecutor on the case? And HOW many cases are there?

So far I've seen "Kurae!" (Take That!), "Igiari!" (Objection!) and a new one, "Koreda!" (Which translates to "That's it!" or something along those lines.) Haven't seen "Matta!" (Hold it!) yet in any of the magazine articles...

I think it is going to determine who's the prosecutor on each case. Hence the "rivalry" between Edgeworth and Makoto Yuuki. Not sure how many cases there are going to be yet. Most likely 4 or 5. ^_^;;

If its like the other games, I would bet on four rather than five.

As long as they're well thought out, I wouldn't mind five. But if there hastily thrown together for the sake of having five then I don't think I would like it too much.

Well, I was making the assumption that they would be, based on positive experience with the 18 previous ones... :yuusaku:

There's going to be at least 3 cases. At least, that's the number of crime scenes they've shown us so far: Edgeworth's office, an alley, and a funhouse.

I'm glad that they chose not to use court scenes considering it's a prosecutor game. For a prosecutor the main struggle *should* happen before the case even makes it to court. Plus I'm looking forward to having a "cross examination" like mode where it's just you versus the suspect: no Judge trying to steer things, no attorney's interrupting. Just a one on one throwdown! It's totally Edgeworth's style and I can't wait! :D

I'm a bit dissapointed that there won't be any courtroom scenes, as if they're only going to have investigation, Gumshoe might as well be the main character. Attorney's aren't supposed to be investigating anyway, and to play up that aspect seems to be weirder. It'd be like making a new CSI that focuses completely on interrogating witnesses, its already something they shouldn't be doing, and its even weirder that its the focus now.

I'm not a lawyer myself (obviously) so I don't know what's expected of prosecutors when it comes to investigating and interrogating. In the media it seems to change depending on the focus of the show XD. In CSI the prosecutor's are practically non-existant, but in others I've seen them take charge a lot, visiting the crime scenes and being present in interrogations so they can negotiate deals, etc. In JFA, Franziska showed up at several crime scenes, where as Godot and Edgeworth hardly did in their games.

And since PW world law isn't based on real world law anyway, I don't think it's inappropriate for them to expand the role of a prosecutor for the sake of the game.

That said, I think I'll miss the Judge. Except if we get to meet him outside court sometime, that is.

Plus, it seems that the prosecutors have a lot of influence on the Police Department in the PW world. How many times has Gumshoe's salary been cut at the hands of prosecutors?

Also, maybe Edgeworth is tired of the police mucking up his investigations, so he decides to take matters into his own hands.

I know in Law and Order and Law and Order: SVU the prosecutors seem to help out and lead some of the investigations. Of course, that is usually after they've been assigned to the case and are trying to get as many facts so they can win their case and find the true perpetrator.

I think the "PRESS" option will not appear since we don't see that in the CROSS-EXAMINATION between Edgeworth and Makoto, but I think a "PRESENT" button will be there.
