I'm actually undecided. But I already love him, no matter what. <3

But if he's too annoying, I'll just draw a lot of fanart of him being gagged.

Its a speech Edgeworth makes to Wright in one of the games. I want to say its in JFA, but it could have also been in 1-5. He talks about their roles in court and uses a garden and gardening as analogies.

As much as the amusing Hugo/Edgy slash is to me...has anyone considered Hugo and Gant? X3 I squee when I think of it. Both have outlandishly wild hair, have Hugo's sporty quality going for him, and Gant's obsession with swimming...could equal to some pretty wild scenes, no?

Given the lyrics of "Guitar's Serenade," I don't think Klavier is capable of being that poetic.

Gant and Makoto picks could be hot.

As for Makoto, anyone want to offer me an phonetic pronounciation of his name? Is it muh-KOE-toe YOU-kee? That's my best guess...but I have zero experience in Japanese. XD

That sounds pretty close to me. Maybe the character pages should have a Japanese pronunciation guide for us curious fans. If they already do then I missed it.

It's probably pronounced yoo-key, like Yuki in Gravitation and a million other anime/mangas out there.
in KKM, the main character's name is Yuuri, but it's still pronounced like yuri is.

Since it's "Yuuki" the "u" sound is longer.
So instead of "YU-key" it's more like "YOO-key". See?

Like how they say in the Japanese version of PW there is definitely a difference between "naruhodo" and "Naruhodou".

Here's a quick pronounciation lesson :D

Japanese only has 5 vowel sounds. Certain words require certain intonation (rising and falling depending on the word, like HAshi versus haSHI) but I'm still not entirrrrrrely sure what the rules on that are. So instead, here's a very basic guide:

A = ah, Like in "mama" and "papa"
I = ee, Like "eat"
U = oo, like in "food"
E = eh, like in "met"
O = oh, like in "oh my!"

Sometimes they're drawn out, like aa, ii, uu, ei, and ou. Even though ei and ee sound very smiliar, and oo and ou do also, there is a slight difference. As far as I know ei and ou are more common than ee and oo. Likewise, differences between short and lengthened vowels are important. Back in high school my teacher gave us a lesson about how "shujin" is "husband," but "shuujin" is "prisoner."

They're almost the same thing, lol. (jk jk)

The most common mistake I hear in pronounciation of Japanese names is people putting too much stress on the "u" sound, especially in the middle of a name, like...the way lots of fans pronounce Naruto, Sauske, and Sakura as naROOto, saSOOke, and saKURa. I think the easiest way to get the pronounciation correct is to slow the name down and speak each syllable one at a time: Sa. Ku. Ra. Put them together and you'll see there isn't supposed to be a heavy emphasis on any of them.

In Makoto's case, his name is pronounced just how it looks: Mah-koh-toe yoo-key.

Though I have to admit all my work with Japanese these days is with writing, and it's been a looooong time since I've had to speak it, though I still hear it all the time with games and anime and such. I'm sure there are more official ways to write out pronounciation (dicationary standards and whatever) so if anyone knows better please say so. But I hope this helps a little :D

Thanks for the little Japanese lesson. Now I can use this knowledge to finally figure out how to pronounce Daryan Crescend's Japanese name (and by which have a better understanding his English name).

The most standard way to list pronunciation is with the IPA (which I think is used in dictionaries), but I doubt many people would understand what some of the symbols mean without having studied linguistics. I used to be such a linguistics nerd that I would write my husband notes using the phonetic symbols, but its been such a long time that I've probably forgotten some of them now.
