Well, Edgeworth specifically mentions Phoenix only had three cases under his belt in 1-4, so it appears he didn't take any other cases outside of the playable ones.

Well, just because Phoenix only takes a case every few months doesn't mean that all Attorney's are like that, Edgeworth is a popular Prosecutor, it wouldn't be surprising if he had several Cases in between his bouts with Wright.

Maybe, but they've retconned GS continuity before. I find it kind of hard to believe that Phoenix has only ever done the cases you play him in.
Still, I'm not entirely sure.

In 2-3 Maya makes a comment about "the cases we lost", but I think most people assume this is a flub in the translation, as by 2-4 Phoenix still has a perfect record, and those supposed cases are never mentioned. Phoenix does not take cases that we don't get to see.
It doesn't make sense that he can live off the money he makes from so few cases, but oh well.

I was thinking about it, Really, there's a whole ton of Spinoff's Capcom can make, so many it's almost scary (Because too many can be bad) But with the 7 year gap between PW3 and AJ, We could easilly have game where Phoenix Runs around looking for clues as to all that mess that I'm not going to talk about here.
Or to go totally off the wall, a game where Maya is the star and helps people comunicate with their loved ones or something.
Or a game where you desperatly try and Get Payne to win a case...

Now, there's still seven years of empty space in the timeline between T&T and AJ, so I am guessing the game is based somewhere in that gap.
Now, the game mechanics looks like a mix between PW:AA (duh), Hotel Dusk, and Kingdom Hearts: Chaim of Memories. The reason I say chain of memories is it appears that moving Edgy and talking to people will be very similar to the GBA Card-Battling RPG.
Now, I want to know who that guy Edgy is talking to in the magazine...

I wonder how the system would work... I understand the investigation, but trials (if any) would be weird. In the game's court system, the people are presumed guilty before innocent. So the prosecuting would be quite simple, since the trials are (thankfully) somewhat linear. Maybe Edgeworth leaves the country? He periodically talks about prosecuting in "other court systems..." (I forgot which game).

Which is why I and others have argued against prosecuter-based games in the past, but... looks like Capcom's doing it anyway!
To me, it says Edgeworth and Gumshoe are main characters... so I'm thinking this game won't be ALL about Edgey. You might have to switch to Gumshoe for some stuffs.
It'll be interesting in a point-and-click adventure way.

Also, there is so much material here for more games in this series. You could have young Edgey cases, Edgey in Europe, Edgey during the 7 year gap [[seems like they're doing that here]], showing where the hell Edgey was during GS4...
Did anyone notice the new style of movement? Instead of picking from a list, you pick from a map.

*Cocks Sniper Rifle*Anywho, really, until the bit is fully translated, it's hard to tell what it's going to be about, and even then, games sometimes change mid-production, it could well take place both before and after certain cases, sort of like There are a few cases in the 3rd PW game where you play as Mia, it could well be Edgeworth remembering a case from his past.
Also, though it says the timeline is between 1-1 and 1-3, that doesn't mean a lot, if I recall, there is usually a month at minimum of a gap between Phoenix's cases, but people keep on getting killed anyway, so it's quite possible that there could be several Cases from shortly after 1-2 or 1-3 where Edgeworth is starting to doubt himself a bit after being beaten by Phoenix.
As I mentioned before, I feel that it would be hard to make the game without court scenes, but you can read my theory about that in the other thread.

Anyways, I can't wait for this game myself. Its just one more to add to the growing Gyakuten Saiban game collection I have. -nods- That and my theory is that this game could take place during the Phoenix Arc, or could be in the 7 year gap after T&T and before AJ.
