For instance, somebody mentioned a camera and an encounter with the killer. Let's say Edgeworth has the camera in his possession when he meets the killer. He can take a picture which can be used as incriminating evidence, which means he can win fairly easier. However, if he doesn't have the camera, his claims are all conjecture meaning the case goes on for longer.
Or maybe as a distraction. HOWEVER ONCE A MINI-GAME IS DONE WE CAN OPEN IT UP IN THE MAIN MENU

Someone in this forum said something about Edgeworth's red sportscar, and he detected something like "mini-game pherhaps?". I can see a racing mini-game involving different colors of Miles's car.

I know this is a reference to MOTHER, but am I the only one who thought of the VS. Computer Virus battle in Kirby Super Star? :P
Also, I think there's a pretty decent amount of potential in side-quests, but only if executed properly; if a sidequest provides evidence or info that is vital to solving the case, then it's obviously not a sidequest at all; but if there's no point to a sidequest, then all you end up doing is pissing the player off.
