Well, that's true, at least.

WOW, when I see him, he reminded me of Advance Wars for some reason. And you made it true... :godot:

Why DO we all think of Advance wars?

And Yew is extremely shortsighted in deploying troops in an area with no allied bases.

Hmm, his theme song does give a bit of Advance Wars to me..
Other than that, he seems like some Commanding Officer, and with all those bullet holes, it gives a feel that he's been in war before?

I dunno, those are just suggestions as to why we feel Badd reminds us of Advance Wars. (*gasp* I see a sequel here!)

Well, the Advance Wars games are awesome, and Badd's theme just SCREAMS 'badass CO'. He definitely does also look the part of the war-hardened veteran commander.

I should really get an Advance Wars game just so I can see how Badd would fit. Are any available on the Wii's or DS's download channels?

Fact: I can't think of any Tyrell Badd facts right now.

Log of Charlie Ray Ackley, Inmate
Penn E. Dent Prison
27 February 2010

It was supposed to have been a routine transaction, really. To be sure, it was a pretty big sale, but the format remained the same – meet up, examine payment, turn over merchandise, leave.

The buyers showed up shortly before noon, pulling up in front of the old warehouse behind the disused office buildings, where so many exchanges had taken place before. Their truck – a battered Ford not unlike our own – parked neatly a few yards away, driver’s side facing us as had been agreed on - letting both sides shoot the other guy's getaway driver is a real betrayal deterrent. Several men emerged from the vehicle, shifty eyes looking around for any sign of a double-cross or unrelated witnesses. Itching fingers twitched at the triggers of Tec-9s and sawn-offs, as our own boys tightened their grips on their own weapons – there were more of them than there were of us, although we were more heavily armed.

In truth, there was no reason it should come down to a firefight – both parties had checked each other out thoroughly beforehand, and we were as certain as could be that this was no setup. Still, one doesn’t get ahead in this business by not being paranoid, and I made a tiny, almost imperceptible gesture with my left hand. Clyde took one step closer to me, AK at the ready as I felt my own trusty Glock under my coat.

As we approached, their leader wordlessly tossed a briefcase at me. I caught it casually and laid it down on the hood of their vehicle, as Clyde walked over and opened it. The contents were tightly packed $100 notes – well worn, with non-consecutive serial numbers. He slowly examined the bundles of cash, bills flipping between his fingers, with no hint on his flat expression of the nagging eagerness we all had to wrap up what was the biggest deal we’ve had in months.

Finally his focused gaze left the money, and he nodded to me. “It’s clear, Charlie.” Satisfied, I turned back to our men, waving at them to proceed with the transfer of goods. The buyers began moving as well, no doubt hoping to load the cocaine onto their vehicle and scram as soon as possible…

“Hands… in the air. Don’t…look…back.”

The voice was deep, gruff, stern behind me. Subconsciously, I began turning my head, a natural reaction to see who was speaking, before the surprise – and fear – could register in my brain, even as I knew he surely had a gun trained on my upper spine. A massive fist struck me in the side of the head, and my vision blacked out for just a moment before returning to a blurry spin. I felt myself falling to the asphalt, landing with a painful crunch on my side. Through the haze of pain, I managed to look up, to face my attacker.

He was the cop out of a drug dealer’s worst nightmare. His face was a sculpture of hard granite marked by razor-thin scars, stern, unyielding to the elements, with a sharp, imposing beard and crested with thinning gray hair. I could feel his glare burning into my flesh as his hefty bulk reached down to grab me by the collar, unlit cigarette in his mouth. And the trenchcoat! It was a tattered mess, perforated with what could only have been bullet holes – hell, there were even some in his necktie - forming a dark gray cape over his massive frame.

And there was no color at all in any part of his profile.

I glanced away to the side, to search for Clyde and the others who should’ve been there, to avoid the detective’s searing gaze – hell, just to get away from the insane dream I must’ve been in – and I saw something even more inexplicable. Ten – no, twenty cops jumped out of the goddamn briefcase, batons in hand. It was all I could do to watch in utter disbelief as the officers pounced upon everyone in that little meeting zone, striking them down and arresting them all. Every. Single. One.

My mind was reeling in shock, as a voice inside of me screamed that it could not be so. This was worse than impossible – it was unpossible. How the hell did the police know we were here, and how did they ambush us like that? How the hell did they even get inside that briefcase? Completely, utterly preposterous, yet it was exactly what had just happened. Who could possibly pull off such an insane trick? Such madness could only have been conceived of by a crime fighting geniu-

The realization dawning on me felt more like a thousand blows to the gut with a sledgehammer, as I turned my head skyward and screamed:

“BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADD!!!”
Read my fic(s)!

Not so fast!

You created that Advance Wars screenshot up there right?

With those skills you could start a series. An alternate universe AA where Prosecutors and Attorneys and other members of the law profession are CO's for the army. I can see Caulder and Manfred allying to wreak havoc upon the world.

Not saying you should or you have to, just showing how easy it could be.

Anyway, there is a serious lack of Badd fanarts on dA, and I honestly don't know where to look :/

I don't get why he had himself arrested right after they caught Yew. The ringleader was still out there, right? Ending 1, 2 and 3 would've been so much more epic with him around. Ah well..

Yeah but I think he'd accepted that since he'd put an end to the Yatagarasu and accepted his crimes he had to be taken in. He couldn't just hope they'd let things slide knowing he was involved, hell I was half expecting Edgey to question him immediately after Yew's arrest until he said to arrest him.

It seems he was planning to turn himself in directly after the whole smuggling ring case was closed, but his moment of retirement came just before they got around to it. And since he had finally captured Yew, his "revenge" of sorts was complete and he could finally atone for his own breaking of the law.

Well that fact explains why he's so colourless....and how he managed to get shot in the tie and survive.
It's a shame he'd never managed to bring the smuggling ring to justice but he seemed to understand that Edgeworth and Kay would be able to finish what the Yatagarasu had started so long ago.

Fact: Tyrell Badd can never be a girl. In an alternate reality where all characters were genderswapped....he'd at least be a hermaphrodite.

Random Fanart drop? I think so....

My opinion of Detective Badd is sadly a bit skewed, and its the game's own damn fault.

He appeared in the same case as a victim named Deid Mann. That....is barely a pun, and right after seeing that a character waltzes in who's last name is Badd.

What am I supposed to think game!? What am I supposed to thing!?

The game messed with you by showing that he's actually pretty cool and legit, however in the end, low and behold.....sigh....
At least he wasn't plain evil. But still....Capcom, watch your puns...

Indeed it is, especially because Badd is the centerpiece.

And I think Badd is more meant to stand for Badass as it's unlikely they thought he was actually evil.
