Well, after seeing the trailer, I think the following characters that will return are:

Because really, especially with the once witnesses, just how many times can you expect an ordinary person to be involved in a crime? Lawyers and detectives yes. But 9-10 year old kids (my calculation for how old Cody would be), Bellboys, actors, etc.? It just doesn't seem likely that they're all coming back.

Bellboy-one of the cases is by the gatewater hotel
Oldbag-has appeared in all of the PW games, has appeared in some Gyakuten Kenji art, character with links to Edgeworth (even though he wishes there weren't)
I also hope my good buddy Payne will appear.

I want Sal back. His character was too underused in the series, honestly... He was in 1 trial phase, and 1 investigation phase. That's all...
Just for the hell of it, bring in Powers, though... Lotta will be in regardless, though. And Oldbag isn't just "Mentioned", she's CONFIRMED as appearing (Water Park Pic).

And I'd like to see an older Cody, just for the heck of it. And Penny Nichols (hopefully with a bigger part and more personality xD ) and Will Powers, and Sal, etc. I guess that means there'd be a Steel Samurai case... which I'd be fine with, honestly! =D
Oh, and for some reason, I have this feeling Lotta is coming back.
I wonder what role the Bellboy would have if he came back. I kinda liked him so it'd be cool.

Objection! He likes the Steel Samarai, which is (I would imagine) a far from serious childrens show. Just because a person appears one way to others doesn't mean in their private life they don't indulge in something that would seem out of character. And the British are serious, serious people (well some of them are).
Well if you won't by that, I'll amend my statement slightly. He'd still make the AbFab joke because he was forced to watch a marathon by another character (My guess would be Phoenix, but I guess it could be Gumshoe, trying to impress Edgeworth with his knowledge of European things).
Anyway, I think Larry should make a guest appearance in the game. I'm sure Egdeworth would love to interrogate him.

I think this game takes place after Manfred von Karma is found guilty..
And if you watch the Gyakuten Kenji trailer closely, you can make out the silhouette of Franziska von Karma, some person with a labcoat-ish white jacket on, the hotel waiter person, Oldbag, Steel Samurai, Officer Meekins, Lotta Heart, and the kid that collects the samurai trading cards.. (forgot his name)

Thank goodness nothing happened to the figure! It looks to be still in one piece in the pictures. I bet there'd be some serious Edgey hurt going on if someone damaged his precious figure. XD

Yup, Steel Samurai.
Though it was Suekane's comic that determined Edgeworth was a fan in the first place, so there's no telling if they'll keep that canon tidbit (Suekane being the original designer, who I'm not sure is still on the team).Aside from me not really liking Godot in general, I don't like the idea of him showing up in Kenji after the finale they gave him in 3-5. They made an effort to have Godot bow out with some dignity left, and even put in hints of his failing health. Many fans take the ending to assume that he passed away sometime after T&T, which is pretty typical of his kind of character. Having Godot alive and kicking might change a lot of views on the ending of T&T, which people were already complaining about with the revelations in AJ.
Not to mention, I'm not sure what he would do without some connection to Phoenix or the Feys. Assuming Phoenix and Maya aren't in GK, that means neither is Mia. So would you have Godot spend his time in GK still half-destroyed by her death? Or would he have gotten over it? Do fans really want to see either one? Personally, I don't. I think leaving his fate a mystery is the most appropriate ending for him.

I think if he were brought back it would be a further diservice to T&T's ending. I would rather think he had died in prison than see him running around all happy and well adjusted.
