So, as you can see, it's Edgeworth, Gumshoe, Mikumo and Rou. A lot of people said Makoto should be in. And other said Franny should.
But this tells us that Rou is much more important that what we imagined.
But what do YOU think?

Regarding the cover, it kinda surprises me they revealed Rou's existence at the same time than the release date and not before, him being as important as this cover "says". I guess they wanted to put no more than 2 old characters, and let the other 2 be new.

1. It uses the exact same art that was used in the previous fake ones that were made, i.e. the first artwork (or the "main" artwork) for each character. It just doesn't LOOK real.
2. Rou is on the cover. Ha ha, what? I'm not going to take that as evidence that Rou is "more important than we thought" but rather that he was just the bizarrely chosen 4th character to appear.
3. It wasn't Capcom who made this apparantly, it was the website itself? Yeah, no.

The only time I know they changed a console names was the Sega Genesis. In Japan and elsewhere it was known as the Sega Mega Drive.
Now that doubt has been brought to my mind, I also wonder if this is a hoax cover. I wonder if this will encourage Capcom to release the official box art sooner to dispell any rumors?

This is all of course depending on whether or not this box art is real.
They described Rou as a "rival investigator" but they also described Makoto as a "rival prosecutor." The wording doesn't necessarily mean "this is the main antagonist across the game." Since this is a new style of Gyakuten there may not even be one in the same way Phoenix always had a prosecutor to fight. I don't think we should be trying to draw any conclusions from this boxart until it's official.

And I`m still very happy that this is not official, if it were, there wouldn`t be space for Franny.

Anyway, this looks pretty real to me. I mean, Edgeworth, Gumshoe and Mikumo MUST be on the cover, and lately it's been made public that Rou is to GK what Edgeworth is to GS1 (althought more dickheadish). And Makoto... it's been made obvious his role in the game, specifically, Case 1.
Now, Shiina... Nah, if they had to choose between Edgeworth's rival and her assistant, they would definately choose Edgeworth's rival. That's just my opinion, althought.

If this cover is canon, then I am one step closer to my greatest dream being realized: the DS card for this game being ~MAGENTA~. (But what else would it be. Really.)
Also assuming it's canon -- maybe they decided to put Rou on the cover as opposed to Franziska because she was already on the cover of JFA. Miles has already been on the PW:AA cover, but not having him on the box for his own game would be ... kind of ridiculous.
That doesn't explain why Rou was picked over Makoto, though. Nobody really knows what size of a role they're going to play in the game, so (again, if the cover is official) I guess we can only assume that Makoto won't be as much of a star as expected.

: nobody innocentnow edgeworth changes but by the time he really changes he's not the main prosecutor anymore and you have von karam who is also very from phoenix godot not exactly opposite but you do have a big personality gap i believe this will be the same about miles and rou miles being the calm intelligent one and rou be the obnoxious (i know i can't spell) spur of the moment kinda guy
i'm not suprised to see mikumo and gummy on there though there already revealed as very important character yay gummy finally gets to be on a cover even if the cover is extremley feminen looking

This is all conjecture, of course. It all depends on if this cover is genuine or not.
A sign pointing to it being fake is that those pictures are just regurgitated official art. Now I suppose Capcom might be lazy, but don't you think they'd put at least a little effort into drawing a new cover? Well.... I suppose not, but still...

Even if they were going with two rivals (one for the investigator one for the prosecutor) wouldn't it make more sense to have Makoto and Rou on the cover as opposed to Rou and his partner.

Edgeworth and Makoto may be rivals in the sense that they are both prosecutors with conflicting styles and ideals, but there's no indication that he is going to be a game-wide rival in the way that we as a fandom use the word.
Also, Makoto does have a page one the main site, but it's buried within the story section rather than on the character page.

Which to me further shows that he is only a case specific character and not important to overall story arch. I just really hope they don't make him the murderer for that case. I'd rather see him as the new Payne.
Some people are bringing up the fact that this cover is just using the new art that has been released so far for the game. Doesn't Capcom normally use this for the covers, or do they actually draw new character poses specifically for the box art? I'm a late comer to the the fandom, and all the games had been released in America by the time I discovered them, so I don't know about all this speculation and waiting stuff.

And maybe Makoto's description was actually "A Prosecutor claiming to be Edgeworth's rival in Case 1". But please... They can't such HUGE clues about him being Turnabout Visitor's killer and then just make him say "It was a joke, dude. You, know pointing guns at people and talking to people who then die in the same place where I talked to them. My main hobby, yes sir."
