Feel free to lock this topic if there's something about this elsewhere, but what sort of dog breed is Pess? If he doesn't have an official one, what sort of breed do you all think he (or she) is? Personally I picture him as a golden retriever. Picturing Edgeworth playing frisbee or tug-of-war with his dog is just too adorable.

Although I think Pess would probably be a Collie (because of the classy, elegant look) or a German Shephard (since he was in Germany quite a while and all the von Karma upbringing and stuff), I keep ending up drawing Pess sorta like an oversized Shiba Inu (Samoyed? idk)

I would think so too! Nothing like a relaxing fun time with your pet to relieve the day's stress ^___^

I kinda have a crack theory though, about Pess being a manifestation of his younger self and Edgeworth would consult it all the time about life-changing decisions XD

Well I was thinking, being under von Karma's care probably changed him alot, so his former self got "seperated" from him and turned into the form of a dog.

Also the creator did say Edgeworth's emotional state of mind depends heavily on Pess's well-being, and we know how bad Edgeworth is with emotions, so where did all of them go to? Pess.

For all we know Edgeworth could have been an energetic kid with a strong sense of justice (which is maybe why in GS2 he came back and said his goal is to seek out the truth)

I think in the one fic I wrote that include Pess he was a Shibi Inu. I chose that bread because that is the one listed on his profile. I think I've also seen Pess as a collie, but I don't really see him as a Golden Retreiver because that is the breed Kristoph has and I don't think they would have the same one.

I feel like where ever it was said that Edgeworth had a dog, the breed was Shiba Inu. But, that might just be a Japanese fandom thing. ^_^;;

Also, I thought the profile just said that Pess was a "big dog" in general? It didn't specify the breed.

As for Pess's feelings towards Phoenix, hmm... I'm not sure. Maybe at first he wouldn't care much for Phoenix, but might eventually get used to him with time. He'd have to if they end up living with each other.

It was sorta aluded to in the first post, but what gender do you think Pess is?

My dog's a dude, so I can't really help but see all dogs as males unless told otherwise.

But, uh, so far, I like the idea of the Akita Inu. The temperament kinda looks like it fits.

I think that Pess is a German Shepard, because of Edgeworth's ties with german people. Also, am I the only one picturing a connection between Pess and Manfred's granddaughter's dog Phoenix/Feenix?
