And I noticed the AJ And Rise From The Ashes Difference, but with GK, It's almost like it's intentional. O___o

It looks best. For some odd reason, brown eyes should always be with brown hair.

I dunno. A few posts above said Case 4. Others say Case 3. I put both.

And don't they stop...erm...growing...at 16?

Yes, but... they're TINY When she's 16, And in GK, She grows a biiit, and then stops? O_o xDDD

You know, this actually also bothered me before so I brought it up at the Ema Skye fanthread, and I was enlightened. Someone from there told me that Ema's eyes is actually of a dark gray hue (when you look at the official art), so the eye color change that we see is most likely because of the other colors of her surroundings messing with our eyes. Like in PW:AA, her eyes are blue, but that's most likely because there is so much blue in her clothes. And in AJ, her eyes are green, but that's most likely because of her green vest. Same thing with GK.

AJ is just weird though. Technical limitations, maybe?

I think I've caught where the issue originates from. You know how sprites have a limited pallet? In GS1 her eyes are the same color as her shirt, in GS4 her eyes are the same color as her shirt. And in GK, her eyes are the same color as her shirt.

So there, they're consistently inconsistent.

As far as sprites go, what Wooster said is probably correct. Depending on the format, each sprite only has 15 (16 if you count the background) unique colors in its pallet. I guess they could use a higher BPP (bit-per-pixel) setting, but if you don’t have to, why bother. Also, if you’re a real stickler for detail like I am, looking at official art pieces would be the better way to determine “canon” eye color, if there is such a thing. Note that Capcom has the same issue with Phoenix’s eyes and can’t seem to keep birthdays consistent either.

Being rather compulsive, in a different thread that Nii mentioned, I had already done the required, uh, research of going through my various artbook scan pics.

All versions of Ema in every official art piece I’ve seen have that sort of steel-blue-gray eye color. Remember that shading, lighting and surrounding colors do have a major impact on the way we perceive an image. This classic optical illusion shows that fact.
