Himiko, and her shadow is Asura, so..:

BTW, I've noticed there's both a Himiko and a Himeko in the game... is this like having a Catherine & Katherine, or Mary & Marie? Or are they totally different in Japanese?

Catherine and Katherine are the same name with different spellings. Himiko and Himeko are two very different names. It is a little funny having both of them in the same game but they both carry a heavy significance so I don't think they meant for you to associate the two characters.

Himiko is a very recognizable and powerful name so it's not surprising that it's used in a lot of anime and games and such.
