Why does Vera Misham wear makeup? (Possible spoilers to 4-4)

While looking at Vera Misham's sprites, I noticed she's wearing lipstick. Her face is also very white, while this may be a result of staying in all day, if I recall that it's common for Japanese women to wear white face make-up. And most importantly, she does her nails.

If she never leaves the house, why does she wear make-up?

EDIT: oh god how did this get in this forum I am not good with computer. Move please.

... She was going to court right? Maybe that's why. And young girls like make-up (for the sake of this argument) so maybe (I don't know if she's like this younger, haven't played AJ in a while. BUT IF SHE DOES) that's why she wears it at a young age.
Still... I have no idea...
