This is the thread for case 1. This is one of the very few threads where you do not have to tag your spoilers, as long as they pertain only to case 1. If you have not finished the case you should not be reading this thread, unless you want to be spoiled.

If you are playing the game and need help getting through the case, there will be a walkthrough thread for that.

Well, first, the case itself was the very best Case 1 so far.

Maybe because I got a first impression of the game's music. The Confrontation themes (including Cornered) were too awesome to describe.

OK, a couple of things which I found most enjoyable (in order of awesomess)

3.- The "Objection! vs Objection!" Mini-battle between Edgey and Makoto.
2.- Yuuki biting his medal, then swallowing it, then fainting.
1.- Edgeworth's mini-sprite pointing at Makoto, alongside an "Objection!", pointing at Makoto.

An extremely enjoyable Case, even when I couldn't understand a thing they were saying. I got sooome of the plot, but that's it :)

It was a pretty nice case one. Part of it of course was the shock of "whoamg new systems" but it really was pretty cool overall. Nice that Makoto got his own "Objection!" voice.

Well the VHS was 10 years old which would make it...2009... ok yeah it's still weird.

It was pretty good but I didn't enjoy it as much as 4-1. Maybe because knowing Makoto was guilty going it spoiled the surprise, but I didn't have any WHOA OMG moments. Except maybe AWW CUTE LITTLE UNICORN PENDANT <3

But I did really like confronting Makoto with Gumshoe and Maggey there, and how they would both pop in from either side of the screen and then pop out again. It was very cute to see Maggey there and then have Gumshoe WOOSH in from the side to defend her.

I'm not that fast as the others but actually I finished the first one! :) (Man I can't wait to have also the Usa ones..)

Spoiler: about the 1st case
It's very innovative as game! No court but lots of investigation! This suit more to Edgy!;) Anyways I totally disliked the coulprit of this case by when I saw him the first time and GLAD THAT HE WASN'T AN ATTORNEY!!
Maggery was very cute dressed that way!:D The feathers seemed the "phoenix" ones!XD Haha! (he is still in the game after all).
I'm glad that everything turned well in the end and I'm very curious about who is this Yatagarasu guy! :/ I'll continue to play with pleasure!:D

Very fun and awesome case! I recognized some music from the trailer ^_^ (The Pursuit theme, I think... Also, three Cro--er, Confrontation themes is pretty awesome)

Anyway, a fun case. I like how the second thief both made the case more interesting and set up the overarching plot. (At least, I'm assuming that's what it's doing...)

I investigated the basketball hoop just as a little joke (like, "lol, it can't possibly have anything to do with anything!") and then it became evidence  I didn't notice the marks on the rug until the very end, either... (That's prolly an "Obvious thing you didn't notice right away")

I'm really liking the Logic. There are some deductions that aren't key/keyhole :P

...Although I'll admit, I failed von Karma's challenge in this case T_T I forgot that Jaques' office was added to the Cou--Organizer, so I presented the Master Key as a contradiction to his office being locked =\ (As the Master Key was used to unlock it)

Also, a question: a while ago, Wooster (I think) mentioned there being a contradiction with Maggey and Jaques having similar names... What happened to that?

(Oh, and I almost forgot... I thought Yatagarasu was a crow, not a raven?)

In Japanese Maggey and Jacques are Mako and Makoto, which we assumed would come up in the case, but ultimately it doesn't. Which is too bad.

Vera is also Makoto btw. LOTS OF MAKO!

Both names begin with Mako-, and they also both end in -ki... Since that was posted after the Japanese release (IIRC) I thought that it was definitely in a case... Too bad, that would've been a pretty cool contradiction :sadshoe: (It would be really obvious then, that it's the other guy who's name begins and ends with that if it isn't Maggey, but they did show him in the beginning of the case :P)

Just finished, myself. Nice. It was more extended from the demo than I thought it would be... not just post-demo, but it felt like they added some parts in between what was originally in the demo. I did make a couple of mistakes,

Spoiler: but only because I'd forgotten about a fact about a certain piece of evidence.
That only prosecutors know about the secret safes

Once again, Edgeworth managed to become even more sexalicious than he already was, and some of his quotes had me in stitches. So much, in fact, that I've adopted one of them in my signature, as you can see. (not a spoiler)

Heh, heh. Yes.

Spoiler:
And extra lulz for Edgey assuming "Mr. Payne" was a janitor/custodian.

I have just finished Case 1, and thought it was a great way to introduce the new gameplay.

Somehow, like the past two games, I feel this case is going to be related or at least have some relevance to future cases.

The introduction of Yatagarasu was very interesting, I can't wait to find more about it. Is it just me or does he seem like a "DeKiller", but a thief instead?

KG-8, was it? I think it was the case name on that tape, and Manfred von Karma seems to be related to it. I hope to see more of that, and bringing back Manfred is a good idea, he is one person you shouldn't have left out of the game.

The logic system was just fantastic. I had a lot of fun using it, and I look forward to using it again. Sometimes having only evidence is kind of dull.

Well, that's all I have to say for now, looking forward to Case 2! :godot:

All I have to say is I hate Jacques Portsman. He says he's a genius and a prodigy and would kill to ensure a guilty verdict...he's a von Karma wannabe, and not even an entertaining one.

I chuckled quite a bit during this case, especially when Edgeoworth said "You fail". Jacques' breakdown was humorous but not top-tier quality and I felt a sense of accomplishment having beaten the case without losing a single segment of the life gauge. A promising start for sure.

I really kinda preferred the courtroom to on the scene. It's much more final when the suspect is given the sentence, GUITY or NOT GUILTY. Bah, don't worry about that. The game is very good, though pretty short, compared to Phoenix Wright (this is probably due to the fact that Edgeworth is a genius of the highest caliber). I haven't finished the whole game (only two cases), but I really hope there's another ace attorney investigations.

LOLOMGWTF, WHY IS THE BEGINNING SO DIFFERENT FROM THE DEMO?! AAAAAAAGH!!! :edgeworth:

Decent Case, too long to be a first case, too easy to not be a first case.

I admit, I got maybe one or two penalties with the logic and deducing things, but the rest of it was easy-peasy lemon-squeezy.

Edgeworth totally pwned everything and everyone in this case. Some of the stuff he says is better gold than what we see in movies these days. It was also nice to examine that office to get a strange sort of nostalgia...

Gumshoe/Maggey became even more incredibly obvious. I mean, they even say pretty much the same thing when you present evidence they don't know about...

Portsman was pretty creepy from the moment I saw him in the demo. His handshake pose sent chills down my spine. It was also really creepy to see him eat his medallion and then have an orgasm...

I LOL'd at Payne, what was he even doing there loitering in the hallway for? =P

Yeah, the case is OK, but I'm looking more forward to the next one...

My favourite bits in the case were when Edgey indirectly referred to Phoenix, and when he said 'you fail'. I laughed very, very hard at that xD
But the case itself I found kind of boring - so far the second case is far more entertaining :)

Yeah, I failed there too. I belive the correct term is, "I fail."

In contrast to the Original 4, solving it made me feel like it was more of an accomplishment compared to the others. Even the first case throws a spin ball...

Of course, this is DS-quality while the others (excluding AJ) were GBA-quality. There are some catchy theme tunes (<3 Kay's theme) but I think the general investigation themes all sound really similar to me, which I don't really like =\ I feel the 'court' themes were a bit more distinctive in the GS games than they are in AAI.

Just finished this case and I have to say, I rather enjoyed it.

Investigating things was great as usual and I look forward to using more Logic in the more complicated cases. Edgeworth's "You fail." comment made me literally laugh out loud and it was amazing. Jacques was annoying because he was so arrogant, but I feel like that's what made him a good villain. His breakdown was... interesting but not worth the gold medal. (Yes I just made that joke.)

All in all, I think this was a really good first case and I can't wait to see how the rest of the game goes.

I quite enjoyed this case! I thouh that Portsman was an arrogant moron, though.

Getting used to the new systems was really easy, and the logic effect is rather cool.

I loled at the cameo of Payne, though I don't get why they downgraded his namebox to "Prosecutor".

Nice to see Maggey again, having taken a job as a guard, despite failing. And Edgey's "You fail." comment was rather funny.

I like the music, but I prefer the music of the other GS games. But hey, it beats JFA's soundtrack of crap! :karma:

Overall, it was pretty fun, especially seeing the breakdown. And it's nice to see more Edgeworth/Gumshoe interaction. :edgeworth: :sadshoe:

I haven't actually played it yet but everyone who has (who I've spoken to anyway) has told me that it's the best first case in a game.

It better be better than 2-1. That was a horrible, meaningless case.

I thought it was a decent opening case, although I'm not too keen on the music (I suppose it'll grow on me eventually, though). Portsman was a good opening villian, although I hate it when he keeps fiddling with his jacket (watching him swallow his medal right at the end felt good though!).

Speaking of Jacques always fiddling with his jacket like a spaz, did anyone else expect his breakdown to have him go insane and mess with it until it somehow tied around into a straight jacket? I thought that would have been incredibly epic.

I thought it was an excellent first case. Portsman began to really get on my nerves so it was satisfying to see him breakdown in the end.

Though I lol'd every time he kept fiddling with his jacket. Seriously, what was up with that?

I kept thinking he was saying, "MAH CHEST. LOOK HOW SEXY I AM."
