Album lists suck though. Big deal you're making a list. Lists are boring without text or reasoning. |

Mogwai Young Team is the only really good album they've done; everything else has been just trying to live up to it. Come on Die Young is pretty good too, but they took a different tack for it so it didn't seem like rehash of a rehash rehash. |

Quote: But all things considered, that doesn't really present a valid reson why the album isn't good. Because it doesn't sound good, duh; what are you wanting me to say?

Because it doesn't sound good, duh; what are you wanting me to say?I don't know, really. But this actually kinda excites me, as The Hawk Is Howling is the first Mogwai album i've heard, and I thought it sounded brilliant. The thought that they have material that tops it seems quite exciting. I'll probably pick up Young Team when I get the chance. inu98756 wrote: Seconded. Also, one I forgot in my list: |

Yeah, both your points are interesting and all, but try keeping on topic. Anyway, here's another to add, that I don't think I've seen here, but it should be on here. One of the best known examples of 70s heavy metal [Not named Black Sabbath or Judas Priest], this album in my opinion has no real bad songs. "Smoke on the Water" is overrated, and possibly the weakest of the album next to "Never Before", but both tracks hold up pretty well. "Highway Star" is quite a way to kick the album off, and "Maybe I'm a Leo" and "Pictures of Home" are pretty awesome as well. "Lazy" is also an epic song as well. This amazing album concludes with the awesome "Space Truckin'", a great way of concluding the album. Also, I'm not really a fan of STP, so I don't like Purple. |
