How have I managed to not post in this thread?

In my less-than-humble opinion, THIS is the greatest album of all time.

Image

I may be a bit biased, seeing as how the final track (The End Of The Tour) is my all-time favorite song. However, the album as a whole is stellar--most of the tracks (with the possible exception of O, Do Not Forsake Me) are utterly amazing...from the backwards message in Subliminal to the highly danceable tune (and surprisingly dark, almost romantic lyrics) of Out Of Jail, pretty much everything on there is great.

The album, sadly, is quite underrated...it's one of TMBG's most critically panned albums. Maybe it's the fact that it was their first album with a full band? I dunno. In any case, it's DEFINITELY worth a listen.

The Beatles, 1: Okay, I know it's a greatest hits type CD, but it's just plain win XD

OK 1st off, is the picture in the post above the one I'm quoting your boyfriend (sorry I couldn't resist). Now second of all, Green Day is a rock band. Maybe they're genaric but they are not pop, Journy is pop or pop-rock at the most. How about this let's do a little comparison between Greenday and Guns and Roses. Do both bands have a kick-ass guitar part, (gasp) they do. Do both bands have a smooth bass part, (gasp) they do. Do both bands have an awsome drum part, well whatdoyouknow they do. Do both bands people that provide sweet vocals, and again they do. Do both bands have cool lyrics, and they do. That's 5 for 5 meaning that Greenday is Rock.

OK 1st, It doesn't list any famous pop bands it just gives a detailed history and elements of the genre.
2nd, It just gives universal detail and not what every wierdo thinks.
3rd, acorrding to the god of infinite knowledge Greenday is a rock band
4th, I am of forgetfull sort and often forget to spell check or sometimes just don't because there maybe to much misspelled stuff on relpy thing and I don't want to have to go though all that.

did you even read the article? it lists the characteristics and DEFINES pop music. also, rock is now a blanket term incorporating several genres of music. i should've linked that too. it's a blanket term for genres like pop, soul, and even hiphop.

oh, and you're not funny.

oh, and you're not funny.

1st, I said what you said I just used diffrent termanology.
2nd, After reading your link I found Greenday to be a pop-punk band which means rock because those two genres are so diffrent that fans find a common ground and call it rock.
3rd, I wasn't trying to be funny. You'll know when I try.
4th, you are still defending Holy Hell. Just give me a reason that you defend her and I'll play along.

Yes it is. Let's comare Journey and MJ now. Do both have high range vocals, yes. Are the songs mainly focused on the lyrics or the instrementals but not both, yes. Do the songs have a catchy tune, yes. Are the songs up-beat, yes. 4/4 Journey is Pop.

That doesn't make sence Santana is a latino band...oh I get it you're saying that Journy's not pop. Well Maybe it's Pop-rock at best, It's not Rock-pop though and there IS a diffrence between the two. Pop-rock focuses more on pop type stuff and rock-pop focuses more on rock stuff. An example of a rock-pop band is Queens of the Stone Age.

Fixed. Also just because a band has a good drummer doesn't mean It's not pop or pop-rock. Any band can have a good drummer but it's what the drummer does (along with the rest of the fucking band) that characterizes the music it plays.
